So I got the fuse, vertical and horizontal glassed and primed. Elevator and rudder covered and doped. The fuse is g9ng to require a bunch of filling ans sanding as I took me awhile to get back into the swing of glassing. 1/64th chart tape for panel lines and I'm waiting on some 1/8th tape to do the fabric. Been a bunch of work with very little to show for it. While things are drying I'm sanding and filling the wing in prep for glassing. It's all good though I'm pleased with the progress.

My where did the time go? 10 days in the Caribbean than another 10 to catch up from being gone. The shops a disaster ( my fault). My age is catching up with me. I was hoping to get the Avenger finished for fall test flights and I may not make it. Priority is getting the shop squared away. A friends vision got really bad and he grounded himself I acquired a few things that I didn't really need but the deal was too good to pass up. He donated a bunch of stuff to our club and I need to figure out how to dispose of it and I thought retiring and cutting back my .part time hobby shop gig would net me more time for the hobby.

My backs killing me this morning from leaning over the bench all day. If you ever done this process you know what I mean. Think I'm going to take a few liberties on the fuse panel lines.Originally posted by Hardway View PostSquadron/Signal publications and chartpack tape.... That is when it gets fun!! (and a calculator if you are full-blown OCD)… Nice job!!! 1/9th scale x full scale divided by how many beers X why is the tape crooked? :P

Roger that!!! However, YOU will know!! I love doing that stuff....
Just a suggestion. I am 6' 2" and a normal table kicks my butt from back pain.
I have two (2) heavy duty black tote tubs with yellow lids from Lowes or Home Depot, rated at 700 lbs capacity. They are empty and are used under the legs of my folding table. It puts the work surface right at my hands and no bending over necessary.... Unless you drop your beer!!! LOL
Hope that may help Bro!!! Great job!!!

Thanks. Worked on setting up the motor mount and mounting the cowl along with the tail feathers today. Very productive day. Once I'm satisfied with the fuse I'll paint it. the wings done but needs to be glassed and panel lined which is no big deal. Straight flat surfaces are easy compared to the fuse. Amazing what you can get done in just a few hours. I have no clue why this has taken so long.

Primed the Cowl , Elevator and Rudder. Mounted the horizontal this AM and got the motor mount fabricated (modifies a Eflite I had) and motor mounted. Clearance looks good. I'll fabricate a mount for the ESC once I'm sure that it will all work. The cheap dummy radial have might work with modification. Really going smooth lately.

Well been hard at it. The wing didn't want to mate correctly (no clue why0 fit fine when I built it. Had to cut into the belly pan and "adjust" everything. Manufactured some semi scale gear doors. Think I have it. I'm really close to glassing the wings. Think I may have found a dummy radial that looks OK I'm working on fitting it today. On her wheels for the first time really a great feeling. Looks like she wants to fly.
