Tim at Motion said they have no idea at this time on when the drop actuators will be available. Hopefully not too far off. Mine comes today, anxious.

Callie could certainly fix you up with one of those or most anything else you'd like to create.

Your are right. The YouTube video and the manual both say 390kv. I'm going to tend to believe and go with these 2 sources. When this thread first started, I noticed 2 conflicting numbers but it has since been changed to state only the 340kv. That being the case, I'm going to go back and change my post using the 390kv. This would alter my guesses as to the final performance when going with the larger FMS prop (but less pitch).

My buddy texted me today..."I've noticed a lot of people are selling their E-flite Mustangs. Coincidence?"

Freewing has definitely become much more jet-centric. Trust me when I say we all want this model to sell very well so they will be more inclined to continue offering great FlightLine EPO warbirds. I'll be getting one for sure and yes, I will also be repainting her in a silver livery (but keep the uber cool invasion stripes).

I was leaning towards "Contrary Mary" which was WZ-I, the same as Big Beautiful Doll, but a different tail number and even more checkerboard. My theory is she was assigned the squadron number after Landers left?

Hi Dan: Yes, that sounds reasonable that once Landers left, that airplane ID would be available to any pilot assigned to it. Had Landers still been there with that airplane and they really needed the same ID numbers, they would have put a "bar" underneath the "I" to designate that there was another WZ-I already in the squadron. That happened with some frequency.

Good point. Unfortunately the dark colors are more sensitive to heating if left out in the summer sun sometimes even for a few minutes at my elevation 5-6000 feet MSL, and can cause that awful gatoring in just minutes!

I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could make it work. However ............................... This P-51 uses a 16 X 12 prop, turned by a 390kv motor. The FMS 1700 uses a 17 X 9, turned by a 360kv motor. The FMS prop has much less "bite" than the FL prop. To be more equal, it needs to be 17 X 11. The FL motor is close in kv but is slightly more max speed. The FL plane is about 0.8kg lighter. Hard to say if performance would be the same. You'd have to try it and see.

In a similar line of thinking, it may be worth seeing if this motor would give the FMS 1700mm P-51 a small boost in performance. It came with an 85A ESC, so it may just be able to take it.

I wonder if they're the same props they used on the Freewing P 51. I was looking for parts and I see that it's gone as well as the Tigercat. I'm starting to have some rare birds.....
