Well...I bought a dynam p 61. Early reports kept me from buying one. As a kid with a room full of models the widow was top 5. Met the guy that owns Bitgo Hobby at NEFI. He said dynam has improved the assembly and unboxed a sample one still in the shipping box. Looked damn good. The wiring is not in the batt compartment any more. The parts were packed well,no damage. Everything looked straight and even. The cowlings some had some gaps,about 1/8 inch halfway around,that's not bad for a $250 twin. I told him i would buy one if i could inspect it and if he stocked spare parts. I live about 45min away and he gave me $25 off for local pickup. He met me at the warehouse on the following saturday, Got to checkout the inventory/spares , he let me pick one off the rack and upon opening it ...it looked great. Looked just like his sample. Had to have it. Had the moment to ask some questions about QC,landing gear,warranty. He asked me some questions as well. The guy really wants to put out a good product, with good support , and really was interested in what i had to say. Build went great.Good..... All the magnets were perfect, landing gear glued well and passed 17 bench cycles. Wing mounts were solid. All servos worked. Wiring labled (t = throttle, r = rudder etc). No foam dings (that really suprised me) No glue slopped on anything. Wings fit well. Spar went in without issue.
Less then perfect....hoizontal stab bowed(propped up ends and put weight on overnight, all good). What gaps there were i filled in with beacon foam filler.
Bad....Aileron lead coming out of wing is just long enough to make connection to fuse with tools but a challenge with fingers. I pulled lead to see if any slack in wing...nope...pulled extension in wing apart. Had to do minor surgery to remove a cover on bottom of wing to access wiring. Think i cut nav light wire in the process.CA lead together -good to go. Could not get green nav and landinging lights all on at same time. Think its a polaritiy issue. Went with landing lights.
Maiden...70mm CG from leading edge of wing. Three rates on switch (100%travel on servos,75%,50%) landing flaps 100% down,take off 50%. CHL 4s 4000 30c....take off fairly short, couple clicks of down trim. Flew great. Most of flight 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. 8min on timer (used half capacity). Landing used full flaps, a non event. Really looks sinister in the air. For a $250 twin this thing is great. Flys an awful lot like my (RIP) FW P38. Its not a 100mph strega,its not an edge 540.
