I appreciate it thank you. I could see how those plastic idler attachment points could easily get overstrained. I have looked, but I don’t see any metal upgrades for those for the panther g

The test is in the driving; if it's too loose, the track will ride off the sprocket teeth, especially when turning or backing up in rough ground like sand dirt, leaves, bark or grass. If it doesn't, it's ok. Its good to keep an eye on the idlers, as they are the weakest link in our plastic tanks' suspension.

Hello all, I have a heng long /motion RC professional edition panther five question having to do with tension on the metal treads. So when I was inspecting it, I noticed one of the idler wheels was significantly back further than the other one. After doing some investigating, I found whoever put it together at the factory put on one of the plastic idler hub supports on upside down. So when I went to put it back together correctly, when I try to put the track back on which what feels like it is at the proper tension. I can see it putting tension on that plastic idler hub support. I know that’s not good. So when I adjust it to the next lesser tension setting, it feels like the tread is sagging too much. If anyone has a panther five professional edition that has the treads dialed in could you send me a picture of it from the side so I can compare it? My tracks are currently off for painting, but I will attach pictures of the angles that I have the plastic idler supports set at. This is the setting that feels like it just has a little bit too much slack but it’s not putting Tension on the plastic hub support. Thanks In advance

Edit… I did look back and I did take a picture of what appears like it is too much slack in the tread, but this is the least amount that won’t put tension on the plastic hub. Thoughts? Thanks again.

For the Heng Long ball bearing need, I use Uxcell brand bearings from Amazon. Cheap, shipping fast and known quality. Not sure it is as good as Fasteddy bearings, but is definitely good enough for HL tanks.

The picture below is an example on the HL Merkava.

Sorry I missed your question. I'm not on here as often as I used to be.

Here's the bearings that I got. They snugly slip onto the driveshafts and can be pressed into the holes in the side of the lower hull wall where the driveshafts come out. They can be fit by tension of a dab of superglue. As an aside note I've found the bearings more important on Tiger I's.

Ha ha I’m going to take that advice to not mess with it if it works.. I have the tendency to tighten the screw until it breaks, then back off a quarter turn 🤣

    thanks for your input 👌👌

I saw on the comment section of a YouTube video about this tank. Somebody suggested adding a link so the track sits a little more realistic. Anyone done this? Does it affect the driving?

Ah ok I gotcha. Thanks . Looks great. And am I correct that the professional edition does come with plastic road wheels? Not metal?

I installed driveshaft bearings when I upgraded my Panther a few months ago. I didn't yet have a detracking issue but since installing the bearings I notice less flex and don't expect any issues. My idler wheels are on the original stock settings.

Hi all. Question from someone who has a panther G on the way from motion RC. I was so impressed with the king tiger I got I had to add this one to the collection. If I’m correct from reading through the posts, it seems the only issue people have had is Perhaps some teeth on the idler wheel need to be refined? Any input would be much appreciated. Here’s the other question I have if anyone could give some input. On my king tiger all of the wheels on the professional edition were unpainted. From what I’m reading on the panther, professional edition, the road wheels are plastic and painted? I have seen some beautiful paint jobs by people here and I’m Wondering when you are repainting the road wheels how do you mask off the black rubber outer lip of the road Wheel so well before painting?

thanks for any input anyone has. Looking forward to adding this to my collection

Forgebear Tanks are Taigens UK authorised distributor and supplier. All Taigen parts listed are genuine. We also stock 1:16 scale tanks and parts from various manufacturers, such as Atak, Heng Long, Voyager, Hooben, Aber, SOL, DKLM, Mato and Tamiya.

In the early day of 1/16 RC tank, the zimmerit kit used to be cheap and easy to get. It may have fell out of fashion in recent years.
