You will need to open up the tank to check for this.
I did. I even remove the screw then tightened. No go. Dai

I got the turret working by connecting the turret motor to the CN3. Some how it got messed up but worked before? The right motor is turning but the shaft connecting to the front wheel does NOT turn. Do I need to remove the tracks and the front gear? Dai

This is the problem. The gears turn but the shaft does not turn. It is stripped? II may be ahead of myself but if I need a new right gear box, might as well upgrade the whole set of gears. What do you suggest that drops right in w/o additional things like cooling fan ? Dai

I remove the right driving wheel and the motor. I see the shaft is now turning with the gears so the issue could be either the connection between the shaft/driving wheel or the gear of the shaft to the motor is stripped does not allow enough torque to drive the sprocket. Dai

I spoke to Toucan and the right gear box is damaged. They will send replacement but I would like to upgrade with after market parts so I can see a difference. How about this one ? Thanks Dai

That is a very slow gearbox “5:1” ratio. Stock HL gearboxes are “3:1”. It is mostly used in tanks to represent heavy slow speed handling characteristics. It is smooth running but can be more noisy then stock.

Overall it have its place most in WWII tanks.

Based on the photo their products description is wrong. I have two of those they are NOT 3:1.

A solid upgrade gearbox is a Taigen 3:1 or HL Red frame gearbox. The Taigen shafts are very tight fitting with the HL sprockets and most all the time need to be filed/sanded down just a bit to fit cleanly.

                          Hey Guys.
I hope you could help. I bought this tank for my dad.yesterday he called me and said that the tank doesn't work again. It's doesn't make anything just beeps sometimes. No lights and nothing is moving. Battery's are fully charged and battery's in the remote are new. Don't have more Infos. From my airplanes I thought the esc was not working but the tank doesn't do anything and the lights are off. So I think there is a bigger problem.

He lives 200km away from me. So I can't help him and check the tank.

Contact the seller and reported the problem. I bought the first tank from Amazon and the last 5 from Toucan. Godfrey from Toucan is a very helpful guy and goes out of his way to make sure your complaints are addressed. You need to open the tank and see if the connection of the battery to the main board is disconnected. If you are into R/C tank, tinkering is a MUST. Dai

HL does make many red frame gear boxes called "ultimate gear box". However it does not make for the Panther G (3879). Dai

Yes they do. You have to know if your tank has a 49mm or 58/59mm shaft and is it a High/Low or Mid//Low motor mount. The “ultimate” are made in all these sizes.

How do I find out what the specs are on my tank?

I bought this to replace my defective gear box while waiting for replacement from China that could take 1.5 months as advised. It says 59 mm for the 3879 ( Panther G) but low high profile I do not know. If you can link me a product for my Panther G, I would appreciate it. Dai
