Since you were asking about the HL Tiger I S33 with the plastic tracks that's what I'll assume you mean? In this case I can answer Yes. I have cross fitted, mixed and matched HL Tiger I Plastic and Metal tracks, road wheels, Idler wheels and Sprockets.

That being said I prefer and suggest all metal running gear with the Tiger I.

Yeah, I think I segued there without making it clear. Initially, I was talking about the plastic tread quality like on the S 33 since it appears they do not have a professional version, but then after reading the good reviews on the plastic treads, I thought about getting some for my king tiger as well.

Interesting info from Tucan hobbies. I have been going back-and-forth with them for several weeks now about getting the metal wheel cap replacements. The person I was talking to finally got a hold of somebody at Heng long and he was told they are no longer producing the tank. I asked him if that was correct because it seems like it’s relatively new as far as the one that just came out with the 7.0 electronics . He responded… They told him they are not able to source the materials to produce. Interesting.

That is interesting. Sounds like there might be a misunderstanding or a translation error. At the very least they should discontinue the Pan-Tiger before the King Tiger...

HL did announce in 2022 or 2023 that they were only going to do like 4 tank runs a year so certain tanks may start to get scarce before they got around to doing another manufacturing run. However, I would say that Canshuo is probably the company making the metal upgrades. The issue IMO is that the metal stuff only comes as a set, but all the plastic parts are available as individual pieces from a bunch of places. Personally I would just use a plastic one. No one will notice and after some dirt is on it, I wouldn't either.

Trust me I tried that first….. the plastic road wheel caps don’t even remotely fit on the metal road wheels.. by the time I took off enough plastic material to fit the plastic just disintegrated . Now the plastic sprocket caps AND the plastic idler caps do fit perfectly on the metal idler wheels and sprockets

Silicone mold of the metal one and use some resin to cast one? Or I guess if it were me I would end up buying the entire road wheel upgrade and part it out selling off small sets of it to make my money back. I would keep a couple for spares. But I've had an Ebay sellers account for like 20 years and you have to be careful now with Ebay. Half the time the fees and shipping costs make it impossible to make any money, but you can also sell to forum members.

For most of the Peddinghaus decals yes you do need to cut them out yourself. Just once I got some from them that had individual films, like other brand decals. If you don't see individual films on the paper, haul out your scissors!

I always cut them as close to the detail as possible anyway to minimize any silvering, individual or not.

Thanks guys! Very happy with them .. what an upgrade from the heng long ones. Being it was my first time using this, as I tried to arrange them there was quite a lot of them folding over on themselves, but luckily, they were strong enough for me too reapply several times. Very happy with them. Even without doing any of the setting fluid, they are still nice and flat.

Another question. One of the plastic tow cables snapped as it was driving through my wife’s lavender garden ha ha.. anyone glued one of these back together? I doubt plastic cement works on this kind of plastic? Probably easier to buy another?

I have had luck with small diameter broken pieces with this plastic welder from Micro Mark. It's what I use on all my models.

Thoughts on professional edition heng longs vs upgrade editions? I run my pro edition on some pretty sharp rocks that can get caught between sprocket and track and haven’t had any breakages at all. I’m looking at getting an upgraded edition too , but can anyone speak to the strength of the plastic sprockets / wheels? I’ve read the plastic treads are plenty tough but wondering about sprockets on roughy terrain?

I’ve had my king tiger for close to a year now, and I’ve run it through some pretty rough terrain and had no problems. Not even running it full speed up and down a small step could put a scratch or a dent in it. Safe to say these are pretty good and will take some abuse.

Hi all,
I have purchased a heng long ¹/¹⁶ king tiger.
I have all the manuals that come with it.
I've tried to configure the remote control settings.
Unfortunately, the translation is poor and confusing.
Can anyone help me to configure the remote controls in English, US or UK English, to help me understand.
''hi'', ''di'' and don are phrases I don't understand, lol.
