David asked me to post this. It was a work in progress nearing completion before I decided to pause. It's much too fragile to battle and I'm awaiting a 3dp M8 Greyhound from Carlos to do that instead. All my stuff is geared toward battle so I prefer robust over details.
Andy's M8 Greyhound, I converted using 3d printed parts I measured up and hacked the body to make work. Key features:
Custom wheel hubs to adapt the Andy's wheels to the WPL axle
True 6x6 using WPL style parts for the axles and driveshaft
Dual motors, one motor for the front axle, one motor for the two rear axles
Leaf suspension from WPL
Servo steering on custom bracket and motor mount
Custom turret traverse gear
Custom recoil unit
Custom elevation unit
IR emitter in mantlet
I presently have an old Clark TK22 in it and it's driveable. Just pending install of the skirts. In order to make it serviceable I have to come up with a way to make the skirts removable (I'll probably use magnets).
