Post #868 is where he mentions it.

Project foil is probably just another version of something that has already been done a hundred times over by every manufacturer for the last 20 years... That's the normal trend ! There always trying to "one up" each other which pretty much pointless.

I meant counties that operated them. Other then the U.S. only Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay operated them. So the P-80 could be more popular in South America.

The F-84 Thunderjet on the other hand was operated all over Europe and some of Asia. Here is the list: Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Yugoslavia.
Add to that the Thunderstreak with swept wings and even more countries can be added to the list.

    Norway

    MAGA....!
Make Project Foil be the first U.S. jet trainer. It is faster than Hoot by at least 100 knots, and not bare aluminum!

Just a friendly reminder that the thread below is better suited to posting things you would like to see in the future and general discussion about such.

The Project Foil thread is to have fun trying to guess how the clues relate to the plane it represents.

Article about Project Extraversion and the four P-80 Shooting Stars that served in Europe before the end of World War II.

Cant wait to see the next release. Initially I was a little disappointed with the release of the L-39. Which is weird because it is my favorite next to the F-100. Maybe it is the paint scheme. I have had several Hobby Top Gun L-39’s. If you google Hobby Top Gun L-39 I promise you will see me either showing one of them off or flying one at EBRC. All were 90mm on 6s or 8s. I guess I was hoping for something in the 90mm class and BIG!! I am getting burnt out on this thread, hurry up MRC, money burning my pocket.

Ya'll, I digress from the intent of this thread, but as one who will always find a way to build the kit to look like the image in my mind's eye, even a 'grey' version would be suspect as the livery I choose to paint over that is only as good as the base coat of whatever color paint is on the kit. It's not that I wouldn't like to have version options, as I would prefer a 'no finish option' but that's just me. This option would not have to be any less expensive for me as a great model is a great model. In the big picture, it matters little as this is a hobby after all and as long as MotionRC continues to produce such great models we all benefit. Best, LB

Many of the early jets never gained world wide use, but come on, the first operational US jet!

Im a little disappointed in the L-39 release. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful looking jet and I’ll probably own one, but if your going to do a 80mm straight winged jet, why couldn’t it be a Lockheed Shooting Star???:Crying:
In a way, the L-39 is the former Eastern Block equivelent of a T-38 Talon, especially since many European air acrobatic teams use it. As for the P-80, I would like one in either 64 nn with optional landing gear or as a 70 mm with retracts. Until then, I'll just have to make do with my "screaming little" 50 mm T-33.
