      Thank you brother!
I want to do a similar system on the tomcat. Along with stall warning, and auto wing sweep programs

      • Main Wheel Issue
Gents, I noticed one of the main wheels isn’t rotating as smoothly as the other. I tried oiling it but it didn’t help. Any ideas? Also disassembling the wheel and shaft seems tricky as the c-clip doesn't want to come off—is there a special tool for this clip? Let me know please.

        • I haven't had to do that yet. I thought the wheels had bearings in the hubs. Migh check to make sure one of the brakes aren't sticking as well.

yeah that's what I am thinking but I can't get the c-clip off to get to it

            • I used to have that issue with my older versions. But it never seemed to be a problem on the takeoff roll, and a little resistance on the landing isn't a bad thing...

Didn't you ask the same question over on RCG?? Just wondering because I posted an answer over there if it is you.

gents, I managed to pull the c clip off. the wheel had a broken bearing. Does anyone know where to get compatible bearings?

                  • Just measure the dimensions and search Amazon.

Really brilliant thing brother, my goal is to do exactly that, but I haven't bought an FPV set yet and I'm a complete beginner. If you're interested, it would be great if you could list all the FPV parts that are needed for something like that (including real-time HUD). What did you buy/need to make something like that work, including turning the head of the camera, etc. Thank you very much for that!

                      • Sure, I'll get back with you when I get back in the shop. There is alot to it, and a bit of extra gear needed.

                          • This is, what, my 5th HSD F-16? Man, I can't quit her. Well now that I have full access to a true blue, real runway, I finally have an adequate place to fly her!

Flew on some used RT 5500s. CG at 175mm which proved to be waaaay too nose heavy. Winds were mild. Sun was not in an ideal position but that's just the way it goes with this runway's orientation. Beggars can't be choosers, right?

Took off and felt instantly way too underpowered. Reminded me of the old V1s. 100% throttle felt more like 50%. Had to give her a ton of up elevator just to get her flying level where I could ease the stick a bit. Doesn't really need a gyro per se, but I wouldn't turn one down either.

I have no idea how many cycles those batteries have in them since I bought them from a buddy who bought them from a buddy. Next time I will get some brand new ones and see if I can tell much of a difference in terms if "oooooomph".

Cameras on both Port and Starboard wing tips. She was coming in like a brick that ate too many hot dogs so I had to give her some extra juice over the threshold and she plopped down unceremoniously. I've had better landings and much, much worse. Just ask my flying buddies they will tell you all about them, lol! ;)

                            • Got my Viper and I'm horrified by the rats nest of bundled up wires under the MFC Board plate.

My main question for the Viper drivers out there: to MFC or not to MFC? Pull it out and run a separate BEC and Spektrum receiver?

                              • I've never had an issue with the MFC board personally. Very much a preference thing but my opinion is if it was calibrated/configured/made for the model, why not simply just use it?

The reason to remove it would be weight reduction and a better ability to mess with programming and mixes in my radio rather than the MFC.

That does make sense. Anywhere you can trim this tubby all the better.

                                    • I want to thank whomever told me on RC Groups to get my CG to 175mm GEAR UP.

WOW! What a difference! She felt like a completely different jet. Felt much lighter, wasn't fighting the sticks at all. Landing was dang near perfect (for me).

The maiden was waaaaay too nose heavy and I fought the sticks the entire time.

Now that I have her dialed in, looks like I will want to do the power upgrade. Even with brand new batteries she's still pretty sluggish in general. Would like a good 20+mph boost @ WOT. A thrust tube is in order as well. Outside of that...

                                      LOVE!

Is yours a "V2" jet? Do you have the clear thrust tube running to the tail of the nozzle? The outer diameter of my thrust tube is 95mm

                                        • It is the V2 but no thrust tube. My good buddy Elbee 3D printed one for me though so I can't wait to install it.
