Well, I read you did not need to hook up the genre wire to the eighth channel on my spectrum receiver. But I think you do. They came from the factory with the solid red light on the Gyro, which should be basic game mode, but that did not help the flight characteristics or counter the motion of the aircraft. When I hooked it up to the eighth channel and selected the middle position, the red light flashes slowly, and in that mood flight controls react to counter to the motion of the aircraft. In the third position I think is the trainer mode with the blue and or purple light always on. So I’m not sure if it came from the factory with a bad basic Gayden mode, or if it needs to be programmed, which I am not familiar with. Right now everything seems to work well in the middle or flashing red, Gerard room light mode.

I beleive your post is a translation as some words don't fit.
If you do not plug in the mode cable it is on basic gain (this worked well on my B-2 and by all reports works well on the Cougar).
It is really nice to plug in the remote gain and put it on a slider or knob. On my B-2 I put it on the gear channel and adjusted the gain to have about 75% gear down for stable landing and about 50% gear up for flying.
The modes the gyro is capable of with the modes active in the Cougar highlighted. The default red light basic mode is what you want to fly the Cougar on. The flashing red attitude lock mode is heading hold and will not feel right.
Red light is always on-Basic gain mode
Red light flashes slowly-Attitude lock mode
Blue and Purple light are always on-Trainer mode
Blue and Purple flashes slowly-Auto level mode
Blue and Purple light flashes quickly-Auto hover mode
Blue light is always on-Gyro off mode
Blue light flashes- No receiver signal detected

Have you seen the Motion r.c. you tube video on the E52 gyro , it is worth a look. You can programme it via your p.c. or buy a programme card ( easiest way for me ).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KIT9KenYYAOriginally posted by orcabeattie View PostWell, I read you did not need to hook up the genre wire to the eighth channel on my spectrum receiver. Bought the F9F ARF, got it a few days ago and test flew it today. I used a high performance fan and ESC out of an Avanti (1920 kv 9 blade) which was more than enough power. Jet looked good - perfect size and just enough scale details, paint excellent. Went together very quick, maybe an hour. Got two good flights today using a Hoovo 6000mah 100c, which we've had very good luck with around here. Plane needed very little trim, but after landing I did increase the aileron throw from 80 to 90%, and added a little up elevator with flaps. After about a 3 minute (mostly half throttle) flight, landed with about 50% left so I should be able to go at least 4 minutes. Fairly fast even at half power.
All in all, very happy with jet, great deal for $389 ARF. Flies a lot like the FW F-86, very stable, no bad habits. Will fly with armament tomorrow.Ron - AMA 1025

so anyway i accidently hit Post Reply instead of Preview and didn't finish my post...
the past couple of weekends i have flown with 3 other guys at my airfield that have the PNP Cougar with upgraded power system... no one has said they've noticed a difference as of yet, but maybe they think it would be indiscreet to call somebody out.
the 12-blade EDF has a noticeable higher pitched sound.
if we were running heads-up drag-races a lot, the 9-blade EDF would probably lose every time... but for casual flying there isn't a significant difference in my opinion.
i think it flies somewhere between the 80mm F-86 and the Avanti. not quiet as docile as the Avanti, but you don't seem to have to worry about tip-stalling in a tight turn like the F-86.
kinda feel like i cheaped out a little, but it was a bit of the proverbial burr under the saddle trying to figure out what to do an the unused power system.

Via PC? I had no idea! Is there somewhere that explains the process? Thank you!Have you seen the Motion r.c. you tube video on the E52 gyro , it is worth a look. You can programme it via your p.c. or buy a programme card ( easiest way for me ).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KIT9KenYYA

Good question, Maybe I am wrong about that, you can definitely set up the Hobby Eagle A3 super 3 via the p.c. and the programme card is very similar to my A3 Super 4 gyro programming card but I cannot find any mention of a data link download in the manual so perhaps Motion r.c. can tell us if a download is available ? I will ask. Just checked with Motion r.c. EU and you can only use the programme card.Originally posted by Guillermo View Post

what Evan said...i plopped an AR631 where the gyro was and plugged it directly into the MCBOriginally posted by jackdcannon View PostNew cougar owner but not new to EDFs (Venom, MiG 21, L39, T33, A4 etc). Never flown with a gyro and don’t really want to start now. Can I just remove it and utilize blue box ? Thanks1 Photo

Hi Guys so I've seen a few posts about the voltage cut off on the cougar and pilots are saying they have changed this as it seems too high, I guess you can change it on the TX stick? is there anywhere, maybe on the motion site? although ive spend quite a while looking, that can help me do this? Many Thanks
