All done but the tweaking stuff…CG/battery placement, decals, ornamental pieces, etc.

Some surprises…the nose wheel steering servo is tied to the gyro. That’ll be nice. When you move the nose left/right…the nose wheel and rudders all move to counter that movement.

There’s not enough room under the power pod for any larger RF chokes, so I ended up using several smaller size RF chokes and stuffing them into the rear of the fuselage just ahead of the power pod. Not an ideal placement. They need to be close to the ESC for maximum benefit. But at least they are there….all the wires going forward from the power pod have RF chokes on them.

I needed to reverse the transmitter’s rudder channel and the throttle channel.

The quality and paint finish is excellent. Order handled and shipped rapidly…awesome!

Hands down my all-time favorite Freewing model to-date. Since the F/A-18 Hornet Blue Angel is my favorite current full scale jet, I want so badly to say that is my favorite Freewing model to-date but I can't say that since that model has gremlins, heavy wing load and just not a friendly flyer to me (sans the new AS3X+ rx's which I plan in putting in my next one). On the other hand, the A-10 has fantastic presence, easy flight characteristics and is a breeze to takeoff and land. I don't expect anything less with this V2.

There is probably some module to make the light flash or a new mixing board with that built in.

I also think there is an onboard controller for the forward gatlin gun.....just need an open AUX channel to toggle it On/Off.......

This model has so many "Goodies" integrated......LED package, Stabilizer/Gyro, Motor reversing etc etc.....no fuss ARF PNP out of the box.......bang for the buck is really strong.

Just received my A-10 today (Wednesday)....maybe unboxing Thursday.....maybe maiden Saturday

"Will Work” is the key operative. If you are good at engineering solutions (foam/carbon/electronics), pretty much a solution can be made to work for just about any “challenge” you want to undertake.

yes, you are right, you can make anything work if you want to spend enough time and money, after all, we are modelers. I should have made my question clearer-wondering what parts are interchangeable between V1 and V2 especially the gun with LED? For example, can one simply remove the old plastic tip with gun attached and install the new tip with gun and led and run a wire to an open port on the receiver?

And….ignore the colors of each single wire. Consider them each as signal wires regardless of the color. So they connect to the signal “row” in the RX ports.

Thanks Evan - Yep just looking at the FreeWing EG01 Gyro photo did not make any sense....I could not glean any additional information from the manual. The video from Motion shows the "Lack" of ports and ya - the single wire for Aileron-Elevator-Rudder to the receiver was puzzling to me. I'll trust that it works rather than study to comprehend the common ground, lack of power wire and using only signal output form factor!

I do like the sensitivity/gain capability port, hopefully I can employ my DX10 rotor knob......and set up On/Off toggle via transmitter switch for the other port.

I am no stranger to Stabilizer bricks Hobby Eagle, Admiral AL3, Spektrum AS3x, Aura8 etc etc.......but the single output wire in this set up is still black magic to me.

I'll set up ONLY a basic Aircraft in the DX10 transmitter with flaps, then add on the AUX channels as I see fit....the only other source of consternation I have now is how to dis-arm the AS3X in the Spektrum 10360T receiver.

Yes gyro to receiver is three single connections for the aileron, elevator and rudder signals and two three connection wires for the sensitivity and mode. Then each aileron, elevator and rudder servo plugs into their assigned slots. Other things like reverse, retracts, drogue chute or other non flight surface servos go straight to the receiver.

The single signal wires for A, E and R does confuse some people.

Found this Video information of how to deploy and wire up to the Pre-Installed Gyro. What is interesting is one connector from the FreeWing Gyro splits off with three control surface (Aielron, Elevator, Rudder) ports for a receiver. I am assuming the other connectors from the main board of the aircraft go directly to a receiver (Bypassing the Gyro/Stabilizer).

I am also assuming the FreeWingGyro is Pre-Programmed.... but can be toggled On/Off via Transmitter switch by connecting the "PPM/MOD" slot to an open channel of a receiver?

Well the previous A-10 could use 90mm fans for propulsion using a first-party optional set of parts. I know it wasn't a drop in, 90mm is a different size than 80...

I have 2 counter rotating 90mm fans burning a hole in my parts bin that I'd love to find a home for, but there aren't many models out there for them.

The old one could not just run 90's. It was an upgrade that consisted of a lot of parts including the whole foam motor pods. I think you know that but "The previous A-10 model could run 90mm fans" is misleading.

I have been lurking and pondering the FMS F-86 Saber or the FW T-33 Shooting Star...but this V2 release of the FW A-10 with upgraded landing gear suspension, 12blade fan, 80mm inrunner motors, LED Slime lights and integrated Gyro in the PNP version pushed me into an over stimulated fog induced purchase. This EDF should do just fine on our grass field. I did not realize the wings are removable which makes storage and transport much better than the F-86/T-33 aircraft.
