My friend Simon got his F35 airborne for the first time. He felt the gyro gain was too low and that it was very unstable in roll. I am lending him my programmer to increase the gyro gains. He commented that is was pretty good in pitch attitude on landing and that with the standard battery placement the CG was behind the factory suggestions.

Right on schedule. RC Castle sold out their first batch. My friend got his earlier this week and has it built and ready to go for this coming weekend if the weather is good. Mine won't be available to ship till end of Sept.

Both F35 s arrived, my friend unboxed his today and was a bit dissapointed with the fuselage join. I will look at mine next week as I am away. Will post a picture on my return.

Yes , mine is not the same but from a distance it’s not really noticeable.
What is interesting is that the stock gyro setting are not enough or were not correctly set from the factory. He reported that it was pretty unstable in roll , not so much in pitch.
He did not have a program box at that stage so I lent him mine and we looked at the settings and adjusted them upwards. He has flown it since and is much happier.
i enclosed his settings. The CG is better with both batteries side by side rather than split as suggested. The CG is at least 15-20 mm behind the factory recommended mark.
Nice and floaty is his feedback to me.

You must be referring to a "steering gyro". This is a built-in feature (pre-programmed). It helps the plane track straight down the runway. Also, when gear is retracted, the steering on the nose wheel is defeated. I'm not sure the gain for the steering gyro can be adjusted. If it works properly, leave it alone.

Why would you have "gains" for the main wheels? They don't steer. They also don't have brakes, so anti-skid gyro is not needed.

Alright, thanks a lot. We’re eagerly awaiting its arrival here in Europe, but it seems there are transport issues due to current events, so it’ll take about another month. Let's hope it arrives sooner.
