  • Thanks. I ordered some 5mm Carbon Rods. As I understand, drill a 5mm hole in the front of the plane, going into the battery compartment area and glued into the sides of the fuselage?

    • Yep. You want to extend them along the compartment sides as far back as practical so as to spread the load. Try to get as close to the front retract mounts as you can. Spackle the holes/paint and you're done. Think of it like you're adding longerons from the sides of the hatch to support the nose gear. The 90 degree front corner of the hatch is a super bad stress point being right behind the gear. It doesn't take much. Running from asphalt into the grass usually will break it.

        • Quick question: Do the wing bolts go into metal inserts? I see mixed details in some build video's. I need to remove the wings for transport so it has to be durable...
