Hello. I damaged my nose gear door during a move. Ordered parts but something is missing. Was there springs that kept the tension? The door just flops open.

Hey guys I just ordered one of these yesterday and im looking forward getting it built and flown. I was reading awhile back about the nose being a weak spot and needing some reinforcement. I was digging around online and found these 3D print files on thingiverse that are used to reinforce the nose area. I printed them out this morning and after looking at them and different pics online of the interior, i can definitely see why they work. Have any of you guys used these before?? or have any installation tips?? or if they are even needed with this plane anymore??? I fly off of grass which is short but our runway is not the Masters/Agusta quality lol. Thanks for any info you guys might have on it!!Comment

If you can grease every landing, no re-inforcement is needed. However, how many of us can boast of that? If your grass is lumpy/bumpy, then I would say some re-inforcement is wise. Those 3D printed things look great but they don't extend far enough forward into the foam. Take a look at this photo that was posted earlier in this thread to see what is needed. The break usually occurs at the front of the hatch opening, at the vertical flat wall. Notice how the CF square rod is shoved into the foam beside where the nose retract is? Take a piece of CF rod and cut a point into the one end so it can pierce the foam easily and send it several inches into the foam. Do it on each side and that will beef up the weak spot very well. (Sorry, don't know how to make the picture any smaller. You can go to "Photos" and find it in a more reasonable size.)

I´m new in here and would like to add my thoughts about this lovely airplane. I´ve been flying this beauty for some years now and it is my favourite plane, although i´m not an expert pilot or a good lander. My first ME-262 (V2 with outrunners) lastet about 2 years and around 150 flights before i lost it due to an engine failure that my piloting skills were unable to recover. Even in the crash that destroyed most of the foam the not reinforced frontsection was undamaged. I immidiately bought the new one with inrunners and have now more than 260 flight logged with it. The not reinforced nose is still strong despite many not so great landings (i´m on my third set of wheelaxles). I get 4 minutes out of 4000 mAh, 5 minutes out of 5200 mAh and 6 minutes out of 5500 HV mAh with about 30% fuel left in each case. I have a gyro installed, but it is off most of the time and only used in very bumpy weather. My plane has a lot of "battle damage" because i´ve flown it through a tree (we have famous jumping trees in the approach sector) twice. Despite the scars it looks beautyful in flight and is a joy to operate. I have a box with my third ME-262 sitting under my bed, just in case .....Comment

I just acquired an early version FreeWing ME-262 (Grey) since I had two counter rotating FreeWing PJ50 6s 12Blade EDF units. The old FW ME-262 has 6blade Outrunner EDF's with 50amp ESC's I think? Has anyone done a valid Amp reading on our 12Blade Inrunner EDF's? I am expecting a robust sound from the 12Blade fans and hoping to have higher low RPM thrust vrs the 6Blade units.....but I am wondering if the 12Blade fans will run shorter flight durations. Comments welcome please.....

Flight Update 07-28-2027
Purchased used from Hurst Texas Hobby Town - FreeWing V2 Grey #2 livery. IMG_4776.jpg I updated with FW PJ-50 12Blade counter rotating inrunner EDF units and 60Amp ECS's. Greater Southwest Aero Modelers of Fort Worth Texas AMA club # 1140 grass field. Heat index at or near 108f - Winds SSE 10-13mph puffs in SSW crosswinds.
Maiden was smooth and silky, fast runway passes with pleasing sound with an occaisional howl. The old V1 coloration tends to get lost in blue skies. Landing is just as smooth as take off. CG at or near 110mm via SMC 90c HV 5800/6700 mAh LiPo. 3rd flight at or near 4:45min duration landing at or near 3.92v per cell from full 4.35v charge per cell. Possible 7min flight times with varied throttle management with loops rolls and fast runway passes. Zero trim was required.
Surface travel as follows: Spektrum NX10 to Spektrum transmitter / AR8000 DSMX receiver
Aileron: 15mm up down
Elevator: 14mm up down
Rudder: 28mm
Flaps: Low 20mm / High 40mm
Ail-Ele Mix: up 2mm / 8mm
The nose section retrofitted with carbon rods inserted top and bottom adding perhaps 1 gram to the over-all weight.
This model flies as advertised very docile with no bad tendancies with or without flaps deployed. No stabilizer installed but might help in winds higher than 12mph cross winds.
I presume the latest version currently offered by MotionRC with the 12blade counter rotating EDF and 60Amp ESC package will have same flight results. Highly recommend this little bird for any pilot. Pilots new to EDF jets may want to consider this model perhaps as a second or third step up
