I wonder exactly how many hours the stock lasted. It’s reminiscent of their second release after that silly “lottery”. That lasted only a few hours (maybe only 2). How can they go for such a long interval of “out of stock” and then only have enough to sell for a few hours? I can’t imagine any factory manufacturing so few specimen for HobbyKing in a given run. Doesn’t it make you wonder where they found them?
Showing in stock as I'm typing this???

Three more uneventful Fat Albert flights yesterday. It flies very well. I'm liking it a little more each time:Cool:

I tried 1 paratrooper but he chickened out and wouldn't jump! Will have to work on that some more.

Finally! It wasn’t too windy, it wasn’t too cold, the runway wasn’t too wet and it wasn’t raining!

I got in three successful flights on Fat Albert yesterday! Using Turnigy 4S 2200’s I was concerned about it being a bit nose heavy as it balanced behind the recommended CG but it flew fine. Just a couple clicks of aileron and elevator and it was good to go

Full flaps on the first two landings and half on the third due to a crosswind and it came down and settled very nicely.

I had one boo boo though, the crosswind lifted the left wing on my third takeoff and I hit the right wingtip which caused a spinout. It caused a little bruise on the nose and a broken main gear door hinge. A drop of CA fixed the hinge and I flew again without issue.

The guys at the field like the looks of it and I have some plastic paratroopers to try out. I think it’s going to be a fun plane.

If Hobbyking had a rep posting here i'm sure they would say "Soon!" which means don't hold your breath. The ETA spot that's usually on their out of stock parts isn't even there.

The only 2 flights I got on it were without flaps. I think it landed at a decent speed although it did float more than I was expecting both times. I was probably a little quick though and I'm sure it could have landed nice and scale like without the flaps, just have to get more familiar with it's stall speeds and such.

You should get some 'profile' pics and some inflight pics if you can! I think you have the most realistic looking Hercs i've seen! Amazing job!
Thanks IP, but I think yours looks way better than mine does! Magic Callie "Delta" graphics have it looking good from 20 feet, but it's certainly stand off scale.
So you are flying yours without flaps? Does it land pretty fast? I will try to get mine back in the rotation soon, and move the CG forward for another flight.

ID:	192188 I only have one flight on mine. Balanced it per the manual, and it flew tail heavy. Made for a fast approach speed to keep it controllable. Cruised around nice, but started making odd motor noises after a few minutes, one of the inboard propellers came loose, most likely my fault not getting it tight enough. The outboard flaps are so warped, they came this way, that they are not useable, I pinned them up, and only have the inboard set operable.
Planning to have a close look at each propeller and motor, move the CG forward, and try again.

Thanks! I am super proud of how it came out. It also helps that we have an amazing photographer as our clubs newsletter editor;)
