OK, lets see what's going to be done on the gunners side of the turret. Once again, some great screen shots show how most M24 were setup.

It's said a picture's worth a thousand words, and this image is talking to me, is it talking to you??? Model kit parts are usually made thicker so they don't get broken easily. The chunky piece that holds a 50cal gun barrel was made from a rolled piece of steel flatbar and welded on, and there's two of these pieces. Next we see a box of 50cal ammo strapped onto the compartment behind the turret. The Tongde small angle piece is correct, and I'll be using it for the purpose in the image. The part to the right of the ammo can is different from the Tongde supplied part. The original is a piece of steel shaft drilled out to hold the 50cal mount, and maybe even with the Ma Deuce attached to it, but I haven't seen any photos of one stowed like that. The drilled out shaft has two pieces of flatbar welded to it, and it's welded to the turret. The bent strangely shaped piece of steel plate is to protect the spare gun barrel, and possibly the stowed 50cal BMG. Lastly, the bracket above the ammo hatch from Tongde is a very nice representation with the exception it's thicker than the original. Yes, I'll be using that bracket.

Here's a couple more images of the same area of the turret that give us a better view of everything.

This next image is of the same tank in very rough condition before it was restored. In the shadow of the welded on guard, another U shaped flatbar can be seen. Also, the lifting eye is clearly visible because the compartment has been removed from the turret.

Here's an image of the same area from above after the tank was restored. This image is looking forward standing at the rear of the turret.

            Short Video about the part.

In this short video, I should've mentioned that this part looks the same as the center of the tripod 50cal BMG mount. Notice they even have same retaining hand screw on both of them.

Here's how I'll make the Turret and upper hull lifting eyes.

Yes, paperclips are a perfect way to make the lifting eyes!!!

LOLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I need 8 lifting eyes. I said 4 for the turret, and I mistakenly said 2 for the upper hull, but the upper hull needs 4 as well!

Well, that's it for tonight, more progress to come!!! Have a great day tomorrow everyone!!! Cheers from RI.

Well, I'm going to apply a very light coat of Bondo on all the plugged holes. I have to go out later today, so I think that's all I'll get done today.
