That TFR is a one hour thing....get real. And if you are getting fingerprinted then that is for a background check. I am sure they love your posting about it here....lol That's gonna go over real well.
Complaining about TFR's like this is what gets folks all revved up for no reason. It's a one hour window for VIP arrival/departure. No impact other than to drive a few customers to Micky D's for that hour.Meridian Aeromodelers, Meridian MSComment

Got up to 71 degrees today, so off to the field to put up with crosswinds. Took BBD and Pandora Two, my oldest and fourth oldest airplanes and got in flights 200 - 204 for the season, hitting my goal. Tomorrow is supposed to be good as well, so we'll see.

Three FAA NOTAM/TFRs have been issued for Phoenix, AZ and the surrounding areas for Thursday, October 18 from 9:00 pm MST through Saturday, October 20 at 9:30 am MST. The TFR is issued for security purposes to cover VIP movement in this area. Outdoor radio control model aircraft operations are prohibited within a 30 nm radius for the specific times listed below. Control Line and Free Flight modelers should use discretion when operating within the TFR. Please note that TFRs are subject to change with very short notice. Check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information.

In a security zone (Temporary Flight Restriction – TFR) those monitoring the airspace must be able to tell friend from foe and in the case of unmanned aircraft there currently is no definitive way of making this distinction. It is also necessary to clear the security zone as much as possible to allow intercept forces to transit safely through the airspace. As such, the current procedure is to ground all nonessential air operations within the TFR. This includes unmanned aircraft, radio control model aircraft and all other aero sport activity.
AMA is currently working with FAA's Special Operations Security division along with the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) and the other sport aviation groups in an effort to obtain relief for our members and the aero sport community in general. In this effort, AMA achieved a small victory by gaining clarification regarding the intent of the restrictions. Previously the NOTAMs spoke to prohibiting "model aircraft" operations within the TFR. This left unclear whether this included control line and free flight activities. AMA sought clarification from the FAA Special Operations Security Center (SOSC) and was able to get this issue resolved. The language in TFRs now refers to "radio control model aircraft", a small concession but a step in the right direction. AMA has also been successful in obtaining waivers for MA activities when short notice TFRs conflict with high-profile events. Unfortunately, when it comes to the federal government and national security the wheels turn very slowly. AMA suspects it may be some time before we see any significant relief, and we may not see any real change until there is a change for the better in the global political environment.This email was sent by: Academy of Model Aeronautics

F22 that is exactly what I am talking about. That is an AMA email showing schedules. More often than not, VIP TFR's are canceled altogether or even cut short. It depends on the VIP. FSS and ATC have current info. Not the AMA.
That's why they want you to call FSS or ATC near the time you want to fly. Then you will get current info.
On a lighter note we now have three L-39's in the club! We flew today under bad conditions. But hopefully tomorrow will be prettier and we can get some good video.Meridian Aeromodelers, Meridian MSComment

Six more flights (5 through 10) on the L-39 today. It was breezy, but it was right down the runway so no problem. I'm really starting to dig this plane, and I'm glad I decided to make the purchase. It's nice and stable, lands like a breeze, and can perform some pretty nice aerobatics. Knife edges are almost effortless. The only plane I have that's easier to KF is the FlexJet with the Aura8 stabilizer.PatComment

Don’t have to do that phone call thing anymore...NOTAM, TFR’s etc are distributed Real Time through satellite, cellular and internet sources to end users. I purposely posted the AMA notice instead of the Official notice as it Made the point.

Got some videos of my planes in the air. Of course the time i video my F18 i fouled up my landing. Its ok just minor damage to the outboard missiles. Fixed and all good. I did redeem myself with my A10 landing.Comment

BEAUTIFUL DAY!!1 71 degrees and a breeze, when there was any, right down the runway. It just doesn't get better than that. Three flights on La Patrona and three flights on the Flying Tiger. The gang was out and we had a great time, love the camaraderie!!
