Don't sweat it BW, it works. Just set it up properly, and trust your stick inputs in flight.

Boots - I've flown the F-105 three times now...it is very predictable and has an impressive roll rate.

Alpha - That's GREAT news! I knew it would sell fast and glad it is....just a great looking and flying 64mm jet. By the way, the Toys for Tots Fun Fly is tomorrow at Apollo and the Warbird Squadron will be there in force. Wish you were here to join us.

About the optional landing gear Alpha, will the gear be available when it arrives in January and maybe an adjustment to my billing to include it? How’s that work?

My preferred parking lots were occupied so my larger planes were grounded. 1 hour window before honeydew obligation.Weather was perfect ,very rare upper 50's here in the midwest and 3mph winds. Grabbed the f8 ,off to the youth football field and went flying. To me that is the magic to these 64mm jets, finding multiple locations to fly close to home is easy, batteries are cheap and they fly well. I would much rather have a 64mm plane in the air then just look at my 80 and 90 mm aircraft (relish the time flying them though). The other bonus is that they take up about as much room as my wifes new boots....new boots = new 105(preordered)... Quid pro quo Clarice, quid pro quo.

Nice Sean! Here's shots taken at Nellis AFB three weeks ago, around 6:30am.

I was stationed in Oklahoma City back in the 70's and use to hang out with a bunch of AF reserve Thud pilots. They were all airline pilots who would come in for the weekend to fly a few missions and raise heck at the O Club. One guy took off and just as he got airborne the AB exploded and the whole back end of his plane was engulfed in flames. He managed to get it around for a safe landing and from that moment on his callsign was "Torch".

"Quid pro quo, Clarice, quid pro quo" <-- That's my new favorite quote of the week.

Even I can't believe how quickly this Thud is selling. Thanks to everyone! I sense the Jet = Shoes equation isn't unique to CFIT Rob.

Discovery Channel Wings was my favorite "must-see" series every week in the late 80's & early 90's, especially the early episodes with the Australian narrator.....good stuff! Here's the classic episode on the F-105 Thunderchief. I love the music! :)

I like the music too. I watched most of the episodes of Wings and I liked the F105, F4 Phantom II, and the F104 Starfigher. WWII were the F6F Hellcat, P51 Mustang, P47 Thunderbolt, the F4U Corsair, and the B26 Marauder.

My favorite Wings music was in this episode on the XB-70, starting at 18:20. It added an such an incredible atmosphere and mood to the piece. Years later, I walked inside the former North American Aviation hangar at Plant 42 at Palmdale, CA, where Air Vehicle 2 was built. As I walked around that hollowed facility, the Wings music was in my head....it was eerie!

As a sided note, I first watched this episode in 1989 while stationed at Homestead AFB, FL, I was a 19 year old Airman. If someone back then told me that Col. Joe Cotton would be a dear friend and that I would sit in the cockpit of the XB-70 with him for one hour someday, I would have NEVER believed them. Dreams absolutely come true....never say never!

That’s a great video. What a badass jet, and what badass pilots, the test pilots and the ones who took them to war. Rolling thunder. I admit there is a lot I didnt know about the Thud. I know it had an internal bomb bay, didn’t know they used it for fuel. I new it had a badass 20mm, but surprised they saved the brass. I wonder why no mention of its brief stint as the TBirds mount? Can’t wait till
                                  mine arrives!

Seemed like their rotation and angle of climbout in every film is very steep. Nothing like we see nowadays. You’d think they’d keep the climbout very shallow especially when it was still in development stage.

Most of the steep climbout footage was during flight test here at Edwards AFB. We did the steep climbouts during the initial phases of the F-22 and F-35 as well. If you have a problem in a new jet, you want that margin of safety to punch out and clear the flaming impact wreckage.

Considering that Nice Sky no longer produces them, It would be great. A 70mm would be nice, but I'd GLADLY accept a 64mm w/fixed gear option. Or you could go a little further and make it's escort, the F-108:

I say MORE 64MM EDFS!!!!! Not everybody has the re$ource$ or flying areas to support anything bigger than an 70mm.
