Aros.MotionRC,
What are folks using to paint/re-paint these EPO jets? If I get one of these 70mm V2 F-16 jets I will likely remove the paint and repaint with the F-16 prototype paint scheme (red wings/white fuse/blue on top of white fuse)Comment

Welcome to the Squawk RPC. I have mine set up with flaperons, but have yet to maiden due to weather and field conditions. I fly from a grass field, so the hope is that they will help with both take-off and landing. I also have the gear upgrade.Comment

it is such an amazing little plane!! You are gonna love it just as much as the big ones! I have even flown mine in formation with the bigger 90mm. not sure if I posted that video here or not...F-15 looks fantastic Mike! I was thinking if I ever grab another 90mm F-15 that I was going to do that same livery.
Well I joined the FW F-16C 70MM V-2 party. Fashionably late. Got her today and had her put together, CG'd, throws and taxi tested all on my lunch break. Dainty girl compared to my HSD 105MM F-16 but I like the less stressful size and weight just to go up the street to the school and have some fun with her. Going to maiden after work, hopefully everything goes as planned. Will be painting her up in the WA Arctic Aggressor livery, same as my HSD version.

Great! I'm really looking forward to it! Tried to maiden at the school last night but there was baseball practice going on. I'll try again tonight if it stays dry. Where is your CG at? What battery are you using currently?

Seeing that plane in real life was even more amazing. I saw that exact one at Nellis back in November... Afterburner was so loud that my shirt was flapping....Check me out on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/user/gooniac33

Good luck with your maiden Aros. Looking forward to getting the maiden in on mine too. It won't be for another week or two. Got to get the field rolled first. I'm running the Admiral Pro 4000mah.
gooniac, If I remember right, you are running lighter batteries aren't you? like 3600s or something. I'm curious where you are running your CG as well seems dialed in nicely.Comment

Yep, Had to sand mine, but left enough for a tight friction fit. I also replaced the small dowels in the leading edge of the wings with better stock. My originals had the texture of tree bark.Comment

Maiden went great! Wow she's a little rocket! Total ball of fun. Took her to the giant parking lot along with my HSD 105mm F-16 (her big sister) but the sun orientation and hazy conditions kept the big girl grounded (I won't take the chance with her). Used manufacturer throws and flew the entire time on the low rates. Even those lows seemed like high rates to me. It was a bit windy so she was getting rocked a bit but I also need to add in some more expo as well. A little too jittery. Outside of that she was a total blast to fly. Very well mannered and happy to do anything I could throw at her. I didn't get too crazy as it was also the maiden for the 6S Admiral 4000. I spaced out when I grabbed the battery with the jet and got the 40C standard instead of the 60C Pro. Doh! Well, to my pleasant surprise these new Admirals feel like much more C than advertised! She was as zippy as any Pro I could have thrown in her. In fact, I can only imagine how she will fly on the new 60C Pros! Flight was 3:30 and the battery was a little warm but nothing like if it was taxed at all. I will see how much mAh it drained once it's done charging.
Going to see if I can fly her at the school after the battery recharges. Didn't get her 100% trimmed due to the winds but she's close. A tad nose heavy (had to give a liberal amount of down when inverted) but the Mobius strapped to the canopy had that effect. Next flight I may put it on the wingtip...
Uploaded the raw 60fps video. The takeoff roll begins at :50 so you can skip to that if you like. I need to invest in a nice video editing program, my Windows Movie Maker can't export anything more than 30fps 1080p.
Now it's time to get the paint together and Arctic Aggressor the crap out of her. LOL

Way to go Aros ! Congrats on a successful maiden ! I keep looking at this one, but out of stock on the 6s pro, and the landing gear upgrade. Any idea when they might be back in stock ?Comment

Surprise, surprise but it's raining in the Pacific Northwest today, so it's a perfect opportunity to initiate Operation: Arctic Camo Rattle Can. Already painted the base, now I masked off the black camo and shot it. Once that dries I will mask off for the white and then she'll be done.
(I like how you can see Big Sister's shadow looming in this shot). :)
