Let me look into this for you.

I did the original rework of the Motion RC Cockpit STL files some years ago.

The IP was too big as I recall to be a drop fit.

Callie Graphics worked out the JPEG of the dials to fit the reworked IP STL file.

The OEM STL files for the cockpit kit offered by Motion RC are still on this "Official 1600mm Corsair" thread.

Check the early pages, I will do some research tomorrow and I do have the 'correct' IP in my STL Files.

Hardway's reference to "salmon primer" is on page 50 and there are some pictures there, too,

Scroll through, you'll find it.

I'll check in tomorrow for sure.

Thanks Elbee, so many things to consider. The instrument panel?? I thought MRC was selling them, but can find nothing in the website. Got to get rid of that baby face pilot as well. BTW, the pilot you have in yours is a definite must.

Just put in my order for the Bird Cage Corsair!!!
Hoping to put my buddy DaveGee's references to work on this bird. Now I have a good winter project and I'm really looking forward to it.
Now, the Birdcage, being the older version of the Corsair, had a 'salmon' colored zinc chromate, but does anyone know if that extended through the fuselage, like into the cockpit? Also, they had fabric covered flaps and wooden ailerons of all things. They went metal flaps when it was decided that rockets and fabric wouldn't necessarily be a good idea.
The wooden ailerons are unique to say the least, were they standard in the bubble top as well??
Going to have to go back through this thread and pick up all the info you guys shared.

Remember when Jerry "Hardway" was building his "Birdcage"?

These were just out.

I recall his research had the "salmon" paint finish only in the interior of the tail-wheel section.

You will love the Birdcage model, so much weathering can be added if you choose. I highly recommend Elbee's STL modifications, struts, T.W., cockpit, ect. The Birdcage and Bubble Top (F4U-1D) used wood ail. I will add Elbee's cowl flaps on mine this winter, mine will be a simplified version using springs and airflow to open and close. Yes, I am envious of your beautiful green grass! Ours is pretty brown, leaves almost off the trees, now looking like sticks. Sigh... Have a Great flying season with your great Corsair and anything else in your collection!

take down the ol dog from its roof haven.. check all servos travels nuts n bolts.. to my suprise the flap bolts were loose..not now , she will b my sunday flyer (one of) weather good.. its meant to b..... the thing has done an awsome job and still looks ok but worn ... it has taken me(us) from raw beginer to i think good (me anyway) intermediate pilot .. the journey has been really fun .. so couple piks have fun b safe on its third paint job.. and still flies good

I know exactly what you mean. I have been removing windows, cleaning gutters, ect. per my commanders wishes. Hardly remember my single days when living in a garage with my hot rod, motorcycle and model planes. Could hardly see out the windows but good times

Have not flown anything since the first check flight of the Corsair.

It's Fall and there are many other seasonal duties and tasks to complete here at the Homestead, unfortunately.

I'll place her with both dignity and pride with her brothers and sisters on the "rack of safety" deep in the catacombs of this ol' house until next Spring.

And according to "she whose authority exceeds my rank" my new orders came down and go something like this,

Okay, now that the model airplane is done, didn't you promise to take down and repair the Eastside storm windows so I could clean the window glass before Winter?"

So, there you have it.

if your battery pack is Ni-Cad, you could build your own tx pack.

Not a difficult task if you have a decent soldering iron.

My trans. battery is 9.6v about 1" x1" x 4 1/4" 600mah. Futaba #nt8s600b. Think my problem is the memory build-up so will run some discharge / charge on my Hi-tec charger. I have been charging 1-2 hrs before going to the field and I am flying almost every day. Bought this radio in 2013 so battery is on the downhill side but until this year I always charged overnight,10-12 hrs and never had the battery go down in 2-3 hrs.
Having trouble downloading pics from phone to my e-mail so haven't been able to post pics on forum. Thinking of getting the FL B-25 for X-MAS and doing a SW Pacific version. Love my FL Tigercat but the Corsair is still a virgin on the dining room table. Thank you for the response, Rex

Guys I have a transmitter question. My Futaba 7c transmitter needs a new battery, 9.6v. Looks like the original type nicad is not available. What do you recommend for replacement? Thanks, Rex

This is 7.2 volt, however.
