Can someone help me out with some photos of the inside nose gear area? I am trying to finish my rebuild after a crash. I purchased a new front nose gear and I have no idea where the two servos go. I know how to bolt the landing gear in and the doors its the steering servo for the front nose and the hatch servo, how they go in.
I also cant for the life of me figure out how to remove the bent strut on my old gear. I removed the two grub screws( set screws) but how do you take it off? I would have thought just by pulling it apart? Any help please.

Great video of the Commemorative Air Force B-25 "Miss Mitchell" showing the 50 Cal feed motors/chutes for the Tail-Gunner position.
Beautiful engineering for the time and great restoration project.

got after it with the soldering iron and that did the trick! Definitely a very tight fit. Thanks for the tip!Originally posted by Evan D View PostGood point about two but the B-25 has just one. Heat is your best bet. If you are replacing the wheels just get a micro torch and heat the bottom leg up and tap out the axle. If you need to save the wheel it's harder and I usually use a soldering iron.

I haven’t flown it yet but my concern is based on the hardness of the stock wheels, and the difference I experienced when I swapped out my 1600mm Corsair wheels. I followed Evans tip with the soldering iron to heat up the strut then punch out the axel. I got the du-bro soft bounce wheels on there and plan to maiden tomorrow.Originally posted by xviper View PostHave you actually flown it yet and determined that the landing was not to your liking? Or was your decision to swap out the tires based solely on how hard the stock tires are? In this case, hard tires don't necessarily translate into bouncy landings. (Unlike the hard tires that come on the Eflite 1500mm P-51 Mustang which make for very bouncy landings and low bounce tires changes all of that.)

thank you viper I appreciate the input. The stock wheels are just so frickin hard. There’s no absorption there at all. Due to the difficulty of swapping out the axels, I think I’m just gonna fly it as is,

What is it about the stock wheels that make you want to change them? A few planes I've owned has a bounce problem on landing. This is not one of them. Totally stock, this is one of the best and smoothest landing aircraft of everything I fly. I and another club member got the HobbyKing Avios S. Tucano. I had it first and it was on my recommendation that he also get the S. Tucano. He was delighted with it and asked what plane he should get next that would fly and land as well as the S.T. I told him to get the B-25.

Have way too. Heavy. Or strong a spring.. nose an main.
Have changed all mine to a softer spring. Easy peasy.. no bounce

I hadn’t seen your tips yet so I went at it without heat… I really had to whack it hard with a hammer and punch to get it out. How rough are the landings with the stock wheels? Am I overthinking the importance of swapping the wheels?

You might check that there isn't another 'grub screw' in the same location.
I have had retracts where 2 screws are used in the same hole.
Also, try using a little flame torch or similar to heat the aluminum strut.

Trying to swap out the wheels with the du bro 3&1/4” (83mm) low bounce treaded wheels. Axel shaft is 5/32” (4mm). Problem is that after removing the grub screw from the bottom of the strut, I couldn’t remove the stock axel and wheel. I tried some gentle prying with a small flat head…nothing. Even tried tapping it with a center punch and small hammer… nothing. Anyone else run into this issue. TIA

About to hit the order button. Other than the wheel/tire mod, anything else need to be done?
