Ow! That was a nasty crash! Cool view of the prop flying away. Hey, BTW your video link isn't correct, here is the correct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mULarZp5B4c&t=99s

You did an incredible repair job, just shows how nice a repair can turn out if you take the time to do it right. And this plane is definitely worth the trouble. Mad Baron, you can do it!!!

          • To the Mad Barron (and atone else who has the cat):
i too list my Cat when -are you ready- everything on the left side quit working-aerolons especially- and she rolled over and in.
Post crash survey showed the ribbon connecter was “loose”.
So, Mad Barron, you n I experienced a similar failure.
i plan to get a replacement, BUT MOST DEFINATELY WILL HOT GLUE THE DAN CONNECTERS IN HOPE OF KEEPING THEM CONNECTED. ALSO MAKE AN INSPECTION HATCH IN THE WING TO CHECK/ASSURE THE CONNECTION INTEGRITY.

            Any comments guys?
            Thanks

            • Got the new fuse today I've got some parts coming later this week and I should get the Tcat flight ready again, I'm kind of scared to fly it again. Its going to look rough since it will be unpainted and showing the scars of the repairs and after a successful fight I plan to do a custom paint job on it.

Good idea i almost lost my P38 for the same reason. The ribbon cable was abit loose in the wing causing the servo to go to full lock and thus almost rolling in if i hadn't caught it during the flight. Had to give full flaps and full apposing ailerons to level her off with the rudder. That was hell getting her on the ground. Now i check those things before bolting the wings up to the fuselage.

                  • Hardway the fuse came with the plastic mount for the nose gear and I have a new gear cover coming this week (I hope). I just need to figure out how the steering servo mounts in the fuse.

                        • I am thinking about shelving the tcat for now. I'm probably going to send the parts I have ordered for it back.

Save the parts.... You won't go wrong. If for some reason later on you need to sell them, I will buy them. Just like a money back guarantee!!! Hang in there Bro!!

I am afraid to fly it again. The first flight the one flap was stuck in flight was able to bring down and the second flight was a total disaster no control due to what I believe was a ribbon cable was loose. And the cost of the parts are almost 3/4 the cost of the plane.

                                  • I feel ya there, the cost to replace all the parts on my T28 was over the cost of a new tigercat

                                    • I have discovered through the heartache of crashing a newly purchased model, you can go through the entire thing during the rebuild and repair or improve the things you think are wrong. A lot of times, we get new planes, glue them together, slap on paint and decals, and get it in the air only to fall victim of electronical/mechanical failure we didn't see during the initial build. It is during the rebuild we improve on those shortcomings to make our models fly and behave ten times better then the first initial flights. Hang in there. As you rebuild, check and double check everything and pace yourself. Reinforce areas you think need it. Reroute and secure the electronics if you need to. Replace hinges, pushrods, control horns as needed. But once you get past the initial nervous bug of flying a plane you just crashed and spent all the time and money rebuilding, you will truly enjoy it. Plus, your plane then becomes one of a kind. And you know your plane more then before because of the rebuild process. I call it a relationship...lol.

                                      • Well I guess I'll put it back together it may crash again. I started on filling in the cracks in the foam on the nacelles the foam compressed and it left wrinkles I started filling them in with some beacon foam finish very easy stuff to work with.
