Forgive my ignorance. I have received my admiral 3500 mAh battery to replace the stock battery in my Panther. I have a nice battery charger. I do not see a setting for a lithium ion battery. Can the LiPo setting be used to charge this battery? Until I get a reply I am using the charger included with the tank but it is a very slow charger.

Hi all,
My 5th and 6th tanks have arrived. When I got the Panther G with black tracks, I thought Toucan sent me the wrong one as I ordered metal tracks. But actually the tracks were painted. I scraped the paint and saw the silver metal underneath. So looks like HL starts to paint their metal tracks now. Dai

Usually painted tracks are part of that tanks color package otherwise it would be TO white. This is not an indication of HL starting to paint all metal tracks.Originally posted by dai phan View PostHi all,

Hi guys, i seem to remember that it was either Toucan or Matomart who mention the metal tracks have a special treatment so they are darker than the "silvery" natural finish from HL.
And there was another squawk member who mentioned he used a cold gun blueing solution on the raw metal tracks from HL.
Also, please remember the Germans used a steel manganese alloy for their tracks which has a natural medium-dark gray color.

The cold blue solution produces a nice dark gray, almost black color. Works very fast. You probably should flush them off with water after treatment because I think it's some type of acid solution, Also works nicely on sprockets and idlers.Originally posted by GregH View PostHi guys, i seem to remember that it was either Toucan or Matomart who mention the metal tracks have a special treatment so they are darker than the "silvery" natural finish from HL.

Hi all,
I just test drive the new Panther G I got from Toucan ( version 6.0/6.0s ). However the driving was so very poor that made me look further. Underneath the tank does NOT have the sticker 6.0S like my other 5. However I open up the tank and the board is 6.0. I cannot do a left turn as the pushing the stick to the left makes the tank goes backward. Also the right turn is at a crawl. Please advise. Dai

Make sure you did not inadvertently engage the “optional” second stick set up that is activated by pressing the “G” button and moving the left stick down at the same time. Some 6.0 and 6.0S MFUs come with this feature activated. They are not supposed to but some do? This makes the TX have the same control set up as stock Tamiya systems.Originally posted by dai phan View PostThe right motor turns but does not turn the wheel. Also now the turret does not turn 340. All connections are secure ! Dai

As simple as this sounds unplug the turret rotation motor from the MFU and plug it back in. Sometimes this works sometimes it does not. If not you could have a bad turret motor or bad MFU.Originally posted by dai phan View Post

To test this I would remove a good turret rotation gearbox from another tank, plug it into the slot on the new tank and see if it works. If it does you know it it a motor issue, if not you know it is an MFU issue.

I have inserted and re-insert w/o results. The channel for turret movement is CN3 so I need to jump my Tiger turret cable to the Panther 's MFU to see what happens. In either case of bad MFU or bad turret motor, I am waiting to see what Toucan can do for me. The right front wheel is not moving although the motor is. DaiOriginally posted by Rubicon99 View Post

If the drive is not working on one side but you hear the motor running, you may have the same problem I had with one of my tanks. The shaft for one of the gears came out, and allowed a gear to fall out of the gearbox on one side. It happened two times, I developed a simple repair if that is the problem. You will need to open up the tank to check for this.
