Our club is experiencing a number of new members who purchased tanks and did not know how to convert them for battling at our tank event. We now have an offer for those new members. We will get the tanks from MotionRC; mostly the popular M4 Sherman tanks. These M4 tanks are good for beginners. They are small and reliable. They have short barrels that are easy to maneuver in our battlefield. We will install the LegoDEI IR receiver battle units and the powerful IR emitters into these tanks. The new member will just glue the accessories on, apply the decals, plug the batteries in the tank and the transmitter. It is then ready for battle. If you know someone who wants to join us, the present offer is $250 with our club's T-shirt and unlimited technical support for a year. Please contact us at socalrctank@gmail.com if you have any further question.
If you want another tank instead of the M4, just let us know and we can do the IR installation for it too. The cost will be proportional to the price of the tank you choose.

At our event today, one member introduced his equipment to us on a new way of battling. I put it on and it was so clear. The camera can be mounted on top of the turret or on the IR receiver. Tang took one home to evaluate it further. We will probably have this new battling experience hopefully by summer.
We had a blast running the Battle of Kursk this afternoon too :-)

I made some toppers, for team recognition in battle, to replace the flags we used previously. We will try out to see how these work at the next event. The LegoDEI unit has 2 metal screw heads at the top. I have many extra IR shade tops. I glued a couple of magnets underneath and it attached to the LegoDEI unit nicely. No more flags falling of during battle, heheh!

Hugo, Tommy and I worked on the 1/9 scale RC Abrams today and planned to use it as the leading tank in our parade at the future events. We also went to Carlos's house to discuss with him the menu for our next Sunday event :-) He sure has some nice RC vehicles including the 1/6 and 1/16 scale RC SdKfz8. Most of them are in the process of "almost done" heheh!

The Sheridan is discontinued now and pretty hard to find for sale in kit form. If I were you I wouldn't let it go too cheap. The kits used to retail between $900-$1100. Now they go for more than that when they show up on eBay.Originally posted by DavidN View PostI acquired this rare Tamiya M551 Sheridan from a nice retired gentleman. He ran it indoor only. I tested it and it runs good. It has it own Futaba radio controller. It also has its own Tamiya battle unit that is compatible with our LeogDEI battle protocols. I have all the instruction manuals. I already have one in my collection. I will put this one up for sale. The $ collected will be used to buy new durable tanks for the children under 10 years old to enjoy our hobby at our events or exhibitions. I will hand the tank over to the highest bidder after about a month. Local pickup at our events only. Thank you!
