David , what kind of range do you get firing IR during daytime ? Any mods to get better range ?

David left out the more important aspect. That is a proper IR receiver. If you are still using the stock HL or TD battle receiver adding a High Power bulb will not noticeably improve outdoor range or "hit ability". What is needed is an aftermarket LegoDEI battle receiver which is far more sensitive to registering IR energy and can easily register hits from stock HL/TD IR bulbs at distances of up to 150' in bright sunlight and up to 180' if fired at with a High Power bulb.

We purchase this type of IR bulb. We installed it into the barrel. The shot can be registered at 120 feet during the day time. You can put a smaller metal tube at the front of the bulb inside the barrel to narrow the beam and it might go further.

Here is the second tank. It is the promotional version HL T-90. It is also new and nicely weathered. It will be available to purchase after I install the LegoDEI battle unit in. Both tanks are only for SoCal RC Tank Club's members. No shipping! Pick up at our event.

Our club will receiver 2 new tanks from a tanker who has a medical condition and won't be able to enjoy the hobby. The first one is this HL Merkava Pro version. He put in a lot of times weathering it nicely. I will install the LegoDEI battle unit in and release it to any new member who wants it. Pick up at our event only.

This Sunday will be the last time we will be able to play tanks at this wonderful lot behind Crest Church. The sign is up. It is set for the construction to start on the 19th. So if you can, come and play this only one chance that we have left. 10AM-3PM. Setting up time 9AM.
