I fly a lot of thing FPV, a EDF is no more challenging than some other aircraft.

I love mine, and I got wicked lucky the other day.
For some reason, the top of the vertical stab came off in flight, which exposed the top to the rudder to the airflow. The rudder started fluttering and in no time the pushrod departed the airplane
So I'm trying to land, in a crosswind with a rudder flopping around wondering what the hell happened. That plane is so good, that despite everything going wrong,
Ordered new stab and pushrod and she'll be back up in no time

Yeah mate, I know, but nothing pays the adrenaline of flying it. I still have an old Albatros (from HobbyTopGun) I fly fpv… But the Freewing will be a huge upgrade in terms of performance...Originally posted by CapnKen View Post

I have installed FPV on it, will use 2.4ghz video system, Vector OSD, Head tracking, TBS Crosffire, HD Camera (Runcam) and added the whistles into the EDF exhaust.
3D printed the cockpit, is not as perfect as some i saw out there, but is ok.
Really excited to fly it soon!

Ordering an L-39, no front wheel listed in spares, is it the same as the 50mm wheel on the T-33?

Thanks for that. It looks promising. I’ve thought about magnets too, as I hope not to be flying with the tanks on. . The box arrived today. Ordered on Friday afternoon from the EU Warehouse in Holland and arrived Monday late morning in Aberdeen in NE Scotland. Great service from Motion RC and Fedex.👍
Just got to screw it together now.

Hi IanF, this might work perhaps. If you modify the pylons and the wing with such male/female attachments it will work. Often used on other Freewing planes to hold pylons or weapons/tanks. And it is easy to fix on foam! There are also some printable 3D parts at www.thingiverse.com if you have a 3d printer.Originally posted by IanF View PostHi guys,
im getting the L39 delivered this week and have been reading through this thread. Lots of great info.
Has anyone made the fuel tank pylons removable, as I would like the option to have the underneath of the wing smooth when flying but have the tanks mounted when in the pit area on display. I know the tanks come off and on, but has anyone devised a method to do the same on the tank pylons.
Any info greatly received.
Not in a great hurry as it’s snowy and very windy here in Scotland for the next couple weeks!

Hi folks, I am pretty new to 3d printing and have been tryin in vain to print the files for the L39 cockpit upgrade.... :-( My printer (PRUSA 3) prints other files ok it just seems to be having an issue with these! Am I missing something or are other people having the same problems, or perhaps found a way to print these items successfully ? thanks a lot in advance
Ray

I’ve settled on the micro eagle for various reasons like size of the sensor, all the settings, overall size... One of the reasons that didn’t work out is the zoom feature. If you zoom it doesn’t allow some functions to work.
So I’ve gone to different lenses. You can find them cheap on Amazon. I’ve found 3.6mm gives the best all around FOV but I have 6mm in my Tiger Cat. With pan and tilt a narrower FOV is not bad. With a fixed camera a wider FOV is better. The lenses are IR CCTV lenses for security systems and to be used in our cameras need a IR cut filter to get natural colors. I’ll get on my computer later and send links for lenses and the filters if you’d like. The micro eagle and most larger cameras use M12 threaded lenses.
Get FPV and other model sites do have some lenses but are limited... I’m not sure if theirs would need IR cut filters or not.
oh, I fly 4:3 if that makes a difference.

I just went on HK and ordered one..... at least it is a start! I love the RunCam eagle... i have a few of them on quad's. Thank you for the info on the P&T!!Originally posted by Evan D View PostI use the P&T out of the Avios Spitfire that you can get from Hobby King. As far as camera's I only use micro's that have M12 lenses (such as the Micro Eagle or Caddx Ratel) so that I have a decent quality view. I also replace the lenses to have a longer field of view. The one's most come with are too wide angle for airplane or EDF use.
What size lens to you put on it?

I would be so grateful!!! Thank you! If you have it on Thingiverse.com I can have someone print it for me through there. I have a 3D printer, but it is apart and waiting for new parts to be put on. I would be willing to pay you, if you want?Originally posted by Guipedroso View Post

Me personally I have brought several EDF from Motion RC and never had any problems with the Blue Boxes but I know from this forum a few have but I think there are only a few compared with how many they have sold

If the weather cooperates, I’ll should be able to compare the two for you. Personally have never had an issue with the blue box.
