I'm thinking of printing the 3DPups for the L-39. how is the fitment of the printed parts?
The Corsair cockpit needed quite a bit of trimming/re-sizing for it to fit.

Congrats on your Maiden +1...I really enjoy mine. Have only 4 flights on it. I don't see a need for a stabilizer but haven't flown with any wind yet.Originally posted by John Bergsmith View PostPut the first two flights on the L-39 today. What a nice flying airplane. Installed a AR636 receiver so I’ll continue to adjust the gyro gains. Plane is smooth and precise. The Russian scheme show up great in the air.

BTW: first two flights were clean, second two with all the goodies on it and didn't see any significant change in it's performance.

PUZZLED:
How does the way the flaps are set up (Geometry, etc) determine the elevator mix?

You are absolutely right and I didn't think about this. Differences would definitely change the outcomes. Post your photo I am curious to see your settings now :)Originally posted by xviper View PostIf you take a look at Rich's settings, you can see that the numbers are different from one plane to another and even with mulitples of the same plane. What your settings will end up being is dependent on where in the flap servo arm you began to size up and attach the rod and also on whether or not you are using any flap servo sub-trim to begin with to get the flap servo closer to the beginning (zero flap) of its travel. So seeing someone else's flap settings may not necessarily be what you will use for yours. If I put up my L-39 settings, they will look different from Rich's.

Anyone have the elevator to flap settings for the L-39? I've been having some issues getting the right settings. I have the DX-18 Tx.

A rather quick and easy mod for me. Perhaps white lighting would have been better but I love the green.Rather quick and crude mod using Xacto knife but the final result is well pleasing to me. I like it. If you want something like this you don't have to follow...

I don't use flap to elevator mixing. I do however have a 4 second delay on my flaps and don't use them at high speeds.
I've seen -7% elevator mixed though.

Added a few more lights and flew moderately to see how long 6000mAh battery might last. Turns out I could have stayed up longer than 5 minutes. Absolutely lo...

So, I just got home from the Maiden and I am totally pleased with the L-39. Flies fast and as stable as if it had a stabilizer. It didn't need even one click of trim which surprised me.
It doesn't drop in turns like other EDFs I own. (Flex jet and 90 mm Raptor)
I have it balanced just slightly nose down at the recommended CG of 103 mm. Or 4" standard measure.
Landed so smooth with a touch of up elevator and full flaps.
Only had one flight as it started to rain just as I touched down.
It only rolled about 50-60 feet on our textile runway.
I'm very pleased with this offering by Motion RC.
The light mod helped especially when it got below the tree line.

Good job. you should enjoy this jet very much, it is a sweet flying machine!Originally posted by I-fly-rc-aircraft View PostReceived my L-39 in the Camo scheme yesterday. My wife ordered it Wed. in hopes it would be here for my B'day Saturday and Motion and Fed Ex got it here.
Plane went together quickly. It took longer to program the radio then to assemble the plane.
I did Stuart's light Mod (the white tip lights always on) but instead of running two wires to the MCB-E I ran a Y. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwH_1f3YdNY&t=388s
Going to maiden it today (Sun.).

Let us know how the maiden flight goes
