Ha! I guess I don't know. But since it's just guessing, I'm thinking that they have some and will start shipping them soon.

I'm also interesting to see how much people post in this thread. In the past you can determine how well a plane will be received (maybe even sales volume) by the number of pre availability posts. Seems like lately the number of posts have trended down even on planes that I would think would have sold well a year or two ago. A recent example is the fairly new E Flite 80mm F-16, while it is "ANOTHER F-16" I would have thought there's enough interesting differences between other F-16's and this one that the thread would be hopping but I have really had to post regular updates in the thread on RCG to get any responses at all. It seems to have not sold well, at least compared as I said to sale a year or two ago.

And why? Recent large increases in aircraft and parts prices, Covids effects at flying fields, people just not flying, people moving away from EDFs or RC in general (we've all taken up other hobbies??), looming governmental regulations, or some odd combination...

I have to agree with Evan. There does not seem to be a high level of interest in this jet. Don't get me wrong I think it's a good product but the field for sport jets is pretty crowded. It could be because the previous new planes were the Mig 29, Gripen and the Bison. I think many were expecting something more in this vain. I personally own over six freewing planes all war birds and think they are great. Have one edf the Hawk T1 which I greatly enjoy. But the year is not over yet maybe more good things to come.

With 1,880 posts on the MiG29 thread in just the first two months it should be the most popular plane at the flying field.

              Except. . . . . .

Probably a combination of all the above Evan but a lot of people at our club are restricting their expenditure on the hobby and thinking twice before buying the next plane. or even the next battery.
I am leaning more towards a "do I really need it " philosophy as opposed to a I would like to have it philosophy. Spektrum, E flite and HH are are getting too complicated and over priced for my liking and I have not bought or am likely to buy any of their products in the last 5 years. I think it will be easier for those getting into the hobby to accept the reality of recent price increases as they will not have the benefit/restriction of hindsight. To buy the Vulcan in the uk will cost me either £266 or £292 ( offer price and full price) including delivery etc.I already have my upgraded Rebel, Avanti S, Hawk and L39 so I have no good reason to spend my money on a Vulcan. It appears to be a very good flying plane and a good updated replacement for the rebel but I suspect the market is with new customers as opposed to existing customers and I wish Motion r.c. good luck with it.

Nice looking jet but for $100 bucks more you can get the Avanti S which comes with lights and a little bigger jet. And runs on 6s also plus a 80mm fan.

I also ordered on Friday the 13th👀 I had a estimated delivery date of Wednesday the 18th, using FedEx 2 day shipping. Got ahold of customer service earlier today to check why order wasn’t shipped yet and was told James made a mistake, all orders are pre-orders. Will not be shipping till September

                          • The Vulcan is here in our warehouse. We were unloading the Vulcan Friday and James told people it was here and in stock (which is is). However, as we unloaded the plane, we realized Freewing put them in "boxes" which are 100% inappropriate for shipping. There is no possible way we can ship the Vulcan without it sustaining damage. The factory has been double boxing all planes for 9 years. The outer brown box is the tougher box which is part of what keeps the plane safe. The Vulcan showed up in one box (not two) and it was an extremely thin box which offered no protection to the plane. This is completely different than all of our test samples and we had no idea they changed the boxes we've been using for 9 years. We had two options at this point. Ship the plane knowing some would sustain damage and some customers would be upset, or delay shipment until we have an appropriate box knowing some customers will be upset (but likely less upset than loads of damaged planes). We realized there is no way we can ship these planes and unfortunately we had no boxes in stock that would fit the plane. We looked for boxes at all the usual sources and nobody had a box which would fit the plane appropriately. Ultimately, we had to order a custom box which takes 2-3 weeks to produce. We changed the status of the Vulcan to pre-order (before we sold a single Vulcan) since we can't ship the plane until we have an appropriate shipping box. This is why some people are confused. The plane is here, we said it was here, but we are doing a pre-order because of the info above.t
thanks tom fo clearing things up!!

Really don't need another jet, have too many now. This looks like a fun jet that should be easy to see. I have a bucket load of batts that will work in it. Talked myself into hitting the buy button.

I can see what they mean watching James do the unboxing I can see that the wing ends are vulnerable to the gentle hands of the postal services !!!, pity they just did not say that on the website or post it on this thread earlier.

It would have been good if the model came in base yellow and you applied the decals yourself as that would give an easy option for those with a bit of imagination to come up with some great livery schemes without the hassle of removing sticky decals and pulling off the paint but I guess they wanted to make it easy for those who just want to fly out of the box and you cannot please everybody.

To me, this plane looks exactly like the Freewing Stinger 90. Perhaps is the same plane with a 70mm upgraded fan installed? Sounds like a good idea to me, I guess it makes it a bit lighter and less expensive and less thirsty for electrons, all good things.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s a little strange that after all these years and all the planes freewing has shipped that they suddenly forgot how to ship them properly?

Hey guys, wanted to post some pics of the Vulcan out of the box. 12 screws, 7 control rods and you are done!

Speaking of the box. Here was issue. Freewing went with a new cardboard box styled box in lieu of the usual white/glossy/top lid style box. Either way, these boxes were still supposed to be inserted into the thicker shipping box with the blue tape everyone is used to. For whatever reason, the shipment got put int he container in just these decorative boxes without the thicker shipping box. While this box is fine on a container packed tightly, it's not as forgiving on an individual USPS/UPS/FED EX truck etc. So rather than take that risk, it was decided to just get the actual shipping boxes shipped over to us.

                                          Hang tight!
