Really happy with the new paint scheme . A buddy of mine and fellow club member did the painting, so a big shout out and thanks to Greg. Brief flight video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLOrPBfTOPo

Love this edf, has anyone else opted to change the led wiring so the wing is easily removed? I couldn’t fit it in my car, and barely fit in the bed of the truck. I snipped the led wires to the wing, and put on some servo extension wire/connectors.

I didn't change them as such. I just taped them together so they became 1 connection instead of 3 for the lights.

Hey Fellas - where are you getting your Pilot figures for this jet from?

Finally got around to setting this bird up, been great to fly in calm or wind. ~50 flights, and settled with CG at 20mm behind the marks. Flying with AS3X+, (including nose wheel) with throttle based gains (thank you Jon @ 2 bros).

My landing area is narrow and full of crosswinds, but the gyro mitigates the turbulence extremely well. I started off with the ailerons reflexed but after some high altitude testing, I put them back to stock since I’ve got the gyro. Land with just a bit of power, flare and she’s consistent no matter the conditions. Flying stock rates, on full throws, she rolls like a fighter jet, lots of fun.

I was most surprised by the sound, the fans sound fantastic, the best of all my jets. I can only imagine how good a twin 80mm sounds, someday I’ll have one!

Side note: if you haven’t tried throttle based gains, my .02 it’s worth the trouble to learn and setup. I wasn't unhappy with my previous setups, they worked well so I was hesitant to try something new. The performance improvement is dramatic, and now I’ve setup all my jets this way.

If anyone needs parts, grab them now, as the PJ50 has been discontinued

I thought I had lost one of the winglets (cracked mount) and started looking for a replacement. Found out about the discontinued status. RC Castle has a few parts left, as does MRC.

Looked harder in my model trailer and found the wayward winglet. Good thing, as the winglet is only available as part of a set of wings, now.

I prefer my PJ over my AL but I think it doesn't appeal to those who are into military type jets. Now, if it was modified into the latest SAAB Global Eye that Canada is about to get, it might garner more interest.

If it takes them longer than a certain amount of time to sell a container load or other set amount of a given model, they are ready to move on and sell something that moves faster.

I suspect this is the case (but who knows for sure). We now see the same happening with the X-Fy J-65. Those who sell it is "out of stock" and it is doubtful if it will ever get back into stock. I love my PJ50 but in a world where military jets dominate, a Biz jet may be a hard sell.

I got the “time required to sell a container load of the model” straight from a former VP at Horizon Hobby. I think he knows…:)
