Love the B model. It's just a little different and not as common as the D.

Guys, just got this airplane and it flies very well. I was a little disappointed in the overall speed of the airplane; however, it does seem to have adequate vertical climb when the throttle is advanced to full. I've seen, referred to in this thread, a so called zip tie modification to the prop. Could someone tell me what that is and how it's done. I assume it is a modification to change the pitch of the propeller. Does it cause any problems with the stock motor and speed controller? Thanks guys, but if anyone can answer that question for me, it will save my going over 53 pages of this thread
Love the plane, school still out on the landing gear.. Plastic struts are fragile and where the scissors attaches it doesn't take much to break off the end of that small screw attachment point. Mine was broken right out of the box, like the screw might have been tightened up too much and crushed the plastic.

does the v7 inner gear door stay open when the gear is down? mine does but I see the v8 doesent...1 Photo

Anyone here had an issue with the rear landing gear? Mine has come loose it seems. Have not torn into it yet but the pivot pin is not inside the control horn or opening. The gear itself moves up and down 1/4 inch or more allowing it to slip out of the white control box. Before I take it out..any advice?

Try bypassing the multiconnector module. That may be the culprit. Otherwise yes the servos have failed. But I've seen on other planes where these multiconnectors have failed causing plenty of issues rather than the servos themselves. Just an idea to try as a trouble shooting pointerOriginally posted by Olasnah View PostI'm new here, but I've got a problem. I was given the Petie2nd v8 as a gift for my graduation, and upon assembly and everything... the flaps don't work. The left flap 'tries' to do something but it just stutters a bit after first trying to minimally move towards a full retract position. No changes to it achieves anything so I suspect there's a problem with the motor. The right flap does nothing, and isn't getting any power at all, as I can easily move it when the plane is 'on'.

Screws, but I did use foam filler in the gaps on BBD.
