    • You know you can send the esc cells etc here with the connector and I can solder everything up for you. What size and brand connectors are on the motor. I also don't remember but what ESC?

Go inquire with the experts on IW or OSE how much capacity you should aim for 3000 is not enough. I think you can get by with 6000mah but what kind of cells do you truly plan to run. This is an important part of your fast electric boat.

      Ask
Mike Luszcz where you should start with his boat. He knows how much it weighs how it runs etc. Tell him your motor and esc and ask him what C and Mah does he recommend for 8 s lipo if that's the way you are going. You need a solid supply for the electronics to perform at their best. This is the last area you'd want to compromise.

I can tell you now if its my boat xtc60 does not go in it . They don't carry enough amperage. A 48 to 50 inch 10-20 pound fast electric boat is likely to pull healthy amounts at some point in its life. Id think about that.

I hope you are ready for alot of action. The boat will give you alot. You see Hugh keep telling you about a rooster tail. Yeah its a prelude to one probably 20 feet long and 6 to 10 feet off the water. Honestly its hardly a toy. You are aware I guess that some of the best setups can snap the blades on the beryllium copper propellers.

But theres no need of getting scared now lets get it!!!

        • That's the thing, I have no idea what the motor and ESC can handle. The ESC is rated for 8S hence the two 4S in series. Also, the batteries can't fit if they are a larger mAh...Those 4S 3000's fit perfectly on the sides of the motor. Anything larger and I will have to put them further aft. I'm good with a different connector like EC5 or XT90 or something...I just want to make sure I have the right setup so I will have to keep asking around until someone can give me definitive info on the motor/ESC. Thanks as always for the help!

My motor is 850Kv and the ZTW 200A ESC is rated up to 8S.

            • You'll be fine. You can set 2 more of the same identical pack in the same orientation aft of the first set and the cg should be okay. The motor and esc combination should be fine. Let me see the rudder. I think you must have a dual pickup. Also do the 2 water lines run beneath the radio box. The esc sports 10 AWG so castle 6.5mm should be fine. The esc is 200 amperes continuous it should be able to peak at least 282 amperes. You need to configure 4 packs in a parallel-series configuration that will give you 8s @ 6000 mah.

You have to decide where to mount your speed control.

              • Alright I just ordered the following:

                Futaba 4PM 4-CH transmitter with R304SB receiver
Two 4S 6000 mAh LiPos with EC5 connectors

Hopefully that gets me in the dance, lol. I'll take a pic of my rudder later today...Yes, the two water lines run under the RX box. The speed control is already in a front, separated compartment which seems an ideal spot for it.

I don't get the need for 4 batteries? If I have two 4S 6000's in series shouldn't that suffice?

Yes but what you showed us is two 4s 3000 mah packs so i was going off that for a parallel/serial connection because it fit beside the motor far forward. Will the 6ooo mah batteries fit?

                  Nice radio....

Okay so the two water coolant lines start off the nipples of the rudder and enter the boat through the transom. One input feeds the lowest input of the water cooling jacket and the line coming off the jacket goes to one of the exits lines on the side of the boat. The other input line from the rudder feeds the input of the esc cooling the exit line goes to the other side exit.

                        • Okay great, thanks! I'm sure I can figure it out. The tubes going out to the rudder are easy enough and I have that open port that one of the lines can latch onto...Process of elimination!

                              • Im not sure what you mean but you have two totally separate systems fed off the rudder. One feeds the motors cooling the other feeds the esc. The exit for each system is the 2 exits out the side of the boat.

The community pond has some beautiful clear water to sit that girl on........

let me see the connectors on you old and new batteries when you get the time. I also think you should order a 2nd pair of your 3000 mah cells for back up. I really like the way they fit. with the first pair. If you can spare the coin go on and do that. I'll send you all the connectors like you have pre wired for serial and parallel connections.

I'm not in WA but ill support you brother...

                                        • I got my batteries today. 2x 4S 6000 mAh...They don't sit flush by the motor like the smaller batteries did so here's where they sit. Hopefully I can CG with these at this location?
