Taigen / Torro metal M4 Sherman 76mm. This one was a “garage rescue” and has been brought back to better then new running status. Added metal servo recoil, LegoDEI IR receiver base, high powered IR bulb, barrel flash, 6.1S MFU, 9.6v 4000 battery and all new wiring. It also received a freshening up of the paint and weathering while retaining the factory side mud effects.
Note the barrel “flash” photo was of the tank not repainted yet.

Hi, I just returned from a 9weeks total RC model break.
I was busy saving the structur of my house.
Not used to the physical labour involved, that's why it took so long.
---
And how is that related to RC Tanks???
I simply spoiled myself afterwards with the HL Jagdpanther as a reward.
(It's always good to have excuses eh?)

Oops, since I bought the Jagdpanther, my personal tank fleet became imbalanced.
I found a remedy for that and got another Sherman.
Luckily I got a chance to put these two new tanks into action during a trip which lead my through Michigan.
A dear RCG friend could meet me for a small engagement, life report can be found in my other "not so serious tank thread"
Start at post 63!

That JP is runing great.Originally posted by tank_me View PostWelcome back. Always sucks when real life gets in the way of your hobbies... :) The JP is one of the tanks I would like to have one day.
It has a slight advantage in the snow over the smaller Sherman tracks, but that is to be expected.
The Sherman had nontheless no problems in these conditions.
(All my tanks are basic HL with steel gearbox)

Took my HL 7.0 KV-1E to work today. Parked it by the radio I jam out to, drove it around on lunch heh heh.
There's now airsoft BBs in the warehouse that I won't ever see again. And before you ask, yes, that is a Puddin's Fab Shop sticker on the upper glacis. And yes, I know the wheels aren't the same shade of green. I'm not going for a historically accurate livery and I'll prolly spray the hull to match the wheels once I get some more paints later on. Or hell I may go desert tan with it. I'm probably going to be putting a New California Republic logo on the turret...yes, that NCR, from Fallout...and given they operate in desert areas I might just respray the whole damn tank a desert color. Haven't fully decided yet.

Don’t worry about what is right with color or theme. Just have fun with your tank and make it your own.Originally posted by JennyC6 View PostTook my HL 7.0 KV-1E to work today. Parked it by the radio I jam out to, drove it around on lunch heh heh.

That's the idea! It's my KV-1E and I'm gonna have some fun with it hahaha. Though I did put a fair bit of thought into deciding which Fallout faction's logo would adorn the turret. They had to have the capacity to recover, repair, refuel, and resupply a tank like that and they had to have cause to field such a vehicle. I wanted it to 'make sense' that the faction depicted would be operating it. And in that vein I kinda want the livery to also make sense with regard to the environment they would operate it in.Originally posted by Rubicon99 View PostDon’t worry about what is right with color or theme. NCR operates in what was once the US SouthWest. California, Arizona, Nevada, that area. Desert. Why I might spray the whole thing a flat desert tan. Not somewhere that Soviet Russia ever operated a KV-1, but hey. My tank, my choice!
Mean time I've got a 360º turret kit en route and I modified the smoker to come out the exhausts instead of the taillight.

So this is a Panzer III that was captured by the Russians and converted into a "fixed turret" assault gun, then recaptured by the Germans who then added a Captain's Cupola? That guy has had quite a history!
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!
