  • Friday the 13th was an awesome day for flying, the smoke was starting to roll in again, but the breeze was right down the runway and just perfect.
Had My Little Gal II (Freewing P-51 out and man, I finally think I've got the cg worked out!! Moved it back to the rear edge of the little squares on the top of the wing (the plate that holds the landing light) and it worked great. The Spitfire was flawless as usual.
BTW, speaking of Spitfires, Sept 15 is Battle of Britain Day, would be cool if all who have Spitfires could fly them that day and send in pics.

Hi Grossman56: glad to hear you had some great flights. I'll keep September 15 open, as I have a Spit (a later Flightline Mk.IX, not like those used at BOB) but I'd be happy to fly it on September 15 if I am in town. Would be fun!

      • took the grandson out and he flew my gs cub and park zone albatross in the rain (both electric powered). first time with tail draggers, he did pretty well. specially with the cub it is very underpowered. he had problems with the mass and anticipating the extra time it would take for the ailerons to react at low speeds, and unloading the wing on takeoff but he flew it without my intervening.

Sweet landing shots and the bright sunshine works wonders for the sabre. Not quite so bright here in the uk

                  • Don't you just love the drive back home after a totally great day at the field, your favorite theme music playing in your head as you feel that you crossed another plateau and your flying just got a whole lot better? That was my day today. Tweaking a few things and seriously looking at mistakes made and why for the past couple of weeks has produced tangible results and today proved it.

                    Ahhhh

                    • I had a chance to fly the Black Horse Do-335 at the Warbirds over Chenango Bridge event this last weekend. My wife was able to get a pretty good video.

As I mentioned before, this plane has a very unique sound. Most of it is generated by the rear prop positioned behind four flying surfaces.

We were dealing with a fairly stiff crosswind. I wound up with a bit more of a flare than planned. Luckily, I had reinforced the lower rear fin. No damage.

                      • Got in a few flights today on my latest project, a 500 size UH-34 Choctaw finished in the scheme of the aircraft that retrieved Alan Shepard's Mercury Capsule. Flew excellent! Looking forward to getting it out flying some more.

I always enjoy your mock dogfight 360 videos. The only downside are the planes appear further (smaller) than they really are in the wide angle cameras. The Sabres must look pretty close when you were flying. I need to get the 360 cam and try it out.

I did a FPV escort mission with a giant 1:3 scale scratch-built T-38 by Corsair Nut. It’s beast with 2x 120mm EDF, powered by 13s batteries and weighs in at 45 lbs! It dwarfs my FW MiG-29 lol. Editing seems to take longer and longer…

Now that's what I'm talking about for "Freewing's Next Big Jet", a twin 120mm 13S. Sign me up IMEDIATELY! Outstanding video, who'd have thought the Mig would have been an FPV escort for a T-38, outstanding video!!!

                              • The T-38 is awesome no doubt! But I would settle for a single 120mm or 90mm EDF F-20 from Freewing/Motion RC. The single nozzle would be more efficient. And I really appreciate the single 6s simplicity in setup. I have been flying the new E-flite 90mm Viper. While I don’t really care for the sport Jet look, its large size/presence, performance and efficiency has simply been amazing! 5 minutes spirited flights from 6s 6000 are fun! And can stretch 40% cruise flights to 10 minutes.

                                • WWII day today at the field. Beautiful day and great conditions so, of course, no one was there!
Had the field to myself for the most part, Jeff dropped in for a couple of flights...

two of my oldest birds BBD and the P-40 with my newest, Bearcat#3. Each one is an outstanding flying airplane and I love them. The poor old P-40 is showing her age, only one gear door and gatored. (My fault). I went back to a gloss finish in her because I feel it does a better job of protecting her from the sun and just because I like the look

                                  • well my grand son is on his way home but over the last three days we flew h9 Fokker d7 (original), 2x edge 540, sport, e-flite t-28 2m, e-flite draco, and Taipan. his plane was the Sport he started 3 weeks ago with 4s batteries turning a 12x10 and ended with a 12x12 on 5s, he flew from takeoff to landing one of the edges (the slower one, mine), the t-28, and the Draco was his first tail dragger.

it has been raining here all weekend so we put the lights on the Draco to good use, he landed the 540 in a driving rain.

                                        • Finally some decent weather and was able to get 20 flights in on 5 aircraft, including the much delayed maiden of the F-18 Tiger. She flew outstanding and got 5 minutes of flight time on an SMC 6200 40C pack pushing the 12 blade inrunner (now in all my 90 mm's). I have to say the FW F-18, F-4 and A-10 are some of the sweetest flying EDF's out there, thanks MRC. Of course the Avanti ain't too bad either to start the day out with so you feel like you actual know what your doing (only an illusion for me, but I'll take it). Hopefully the weather will hold and I'll get the maiden in on the Mig on Wednesday! Eventually I'll get a video together of the F-18, but the phone footage looks fairly crappy, so don't hold your breath! Definitely need AG's videographer!!

A friend had the WWI Pup gasser out as well, would love to have something like this. Tried to talk him into letting me have a flight with it, but turns out he's a lot smarter than he looks so no go! He spent 7 months building it and is planning on taking it to one of the WWI-II scale events for competition. He still needs to finish the machine gun before it's ready to compete but it flies outstanding, probably better than the real one did.
