  • Hmm, with the wings out and flaps down, mine just floats in for landing with minimal throttle.

    • Sorry boys, I can't be the only one Plane Poor around here can I? LOL

      • In case anyone notices or cares, especially those F-14 aficionados among us, I have decided to go with a hybrid livery. A cross between the VF-103 and VF-84. I ordered the VF-84 decal set from Callie but upon further inspection I actually prefer the tail design of the VF-103 better (angled yellow accents at the top of the tails). I already extended the black point aft of the canopy well beyond where it actually goes in the full scale just because I think it looks better. So my apologies to those of you who are sticklers for the fine scale details in relation to the full scale counterpart. Normally I share the same adherence to livery accuracy but in this case she's gonna be a hybrid. I say this in case anyone wonders when they see the final product.

        ;)

        • I'm keeping the Freewing OEM fuselage colors, repainting wings and tail-planes NASA orange.

NASA did paint the wings and tail-planes nearly solid orange on one. But with NASA markings instead of Navy on the fuselage.

Close enough for sport flying. If anyone wants it more accurate, they can repaint it for me.

Purpose is to keep it visible against a grey sky. The thing gets pretty hard to see in Navy low visibility colors
FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.

current planes from 1/2 oz to 22 lbs

Looks good to me! At the end of the day it's about being able to see these darn aircraft we fly. If it makes it easier to paint high contrast color, scale police be damned! LOL

            • Over the summer (which is build season for me) I need to break mine down and repaint it into a VF-1 Wolfpack scheme. Callie already has the decals for it.

                                        • Don;t try to put all 3 wheels down at once. Hold the nose up a bit. Drag of the mains touching will pull the nose down.
