  • So i got myself the eurofighter, it looks amazing and flighs great but i need to get some more time and practise with it to do high alfa and landings are a little hot.. i was wondering since i added 40gr of tail weight but its obviously not enough, so added another 25 for next flight.

my question is how much sensetiveti are you guys running with the as3x? I saw Jon @ two bro RC running 4x sens. Anyone else did this to make it more stable as weight it beeing added to the tail?

    • Solved the canard problem. Turned out i needed to put everything back to a 100% values and do the aux wizards setup again.

            • Hello all. I’ve recently bought the 6S EF typhoon and excited to build and do my own colour scheme. I would like to ask those who don't use the canards through the mixing box, i would like ask what size receiver are you using? I believe the jet requires 7 minimum. Thanks.

              • I use a 10. 2 for canards and separate steering.

                  • I also read and seen that the gear sequence is very slow. How have you guys managed to speed this up ?

                    • Seems newer ones are faster.

                      • Ok guys thanks. Will check the speed once I’ve got it fully built.

                            • What spray paint gives the best colour match to the factory paint that i could get in the UK?

Doubt you'll get an answer here mate. It's actually a quite complex colour, very subtle blue hint. Can't see you getting spray to match it exactly. Either buy a few tamiya shades, mix em and airbrush on or get B n Q to scan it and mix a sample pot for you.
I did that but it wasn't a close match so went back and found the correct colour using their colour swatch cards. I found the colour but the shade was too dark or light so bought both, mixed them 50 / 50 and it was spot on.
From memory, the 2 sample pots I bought were Made in The Shade and Endless Shadows in B n Q Valspar Matt.
No need to spray it although you can thin and airbrush it on. What I do is roll it on with a mini foam roller ( also from B n Q ). Do it as a few very, very thin coats, like almost a dry roller and it will go down almost spray smooth. If done outside, it will dry in a few minutes this way. To match the smooth finish of the stock paint, get a very fine foam sanding pad, 320+ grit ( also from B n Q or screwfix ), quick rub and brush off and your done.

                                • This was painted using the above technique, although the red was airbrushed as I wanted a gloss finish there. The F22 in my sig was all Valspar match pots from B n Q

Also, if you need masking tape that doesn't peel the paint, I use the pale pink delicate surface one from , you guessed it, B n Q. You can leave it on for days with no issue, don't use the delicate Frogtape. I do still roll it off rather than pull, just to be extra careful.

                                  • Thanks Alphonso. Ive had a dig on the WWW and found the british standard code for it and a couple places that can make this colour in spray cans.

ill look in to the b&q mix and roller method but haven’t done that method before. Cheers.

have you modified the trailing edge to be a full length control surface ? Great looking paint job. Ive had Callie graphics make me some decals for a 1 squadron typhoon.

                                      • I simulated the dual surfaces with some subtle shading using a Tamiya weathering kit. It obviously works then lol, thanks for noticing.
only thing with getting the official colour mixed up, is assuming Freewing used the official colour.
If your doing an RAF one, our radome , leading edge of the canards and vert stab is a shade darker than the fuse grey.
I didn't cover the whole model, just went over the decals. I had water slides made up by Custom Model Decals UK, unfortunately they are not taking orders due to the owner being very ill. Very sad as he mentioned how ill he was whilst working on my job.
