  • I simulated the dual surfaces with some subtle shading using a Tamiya weathering kit. It obviously works then lol, thanks for noticing.
only thing with getting the official colour mixed up, is assuming Freewing used the official colour.
If your doing an RAF one, our radome , leading edge of the canards and vert stab is a shade darker than the fuse grey.
I didn't cover the whole model, just went over the decals. I had water slides made up by Custom Model Decals UK, unfortunately they are not taking orders due to the owner being very ill. Very sad as he mentioned how ill he was whilst working on my job.

      • Looks like I will need to get myself an air brush kit 😁 because that looks brilliant.

yea I have seen this 3dp cockpit but i cant justify the £60+ to buy all the files just for that one file. Looks great and much better than stock one.

        • I'm sure the file I used was a tenner or so. If you go the airbrush route, get a compressor too. The air cans are awful, only get one or two presses before it freezes up and the pressure drops or you get spatters. External mix is OK for large areas, infact it's probably quicker but you'll wish you'd bought internal mix as soon as you wish to do fine or feathered work.

thats the link i came across for a more detailed cockpit. If there is another could you send the link?

yea plan is to get a air brush kit with the compressor. Would need to do mixing test ect first before proceeding to paint on the model.

Appears to be this one, but it's 2 or 3 kits to get everything Alphonso is showing

              1. Main
Here you get a visually sophisticated cockpit conversion for the Eurofighter "Typhoon" - Spanish Air Force - Tiger Meet 2018 Livery - Scale 1/11 - from the company FREEWING. This replaces the cockpit supplied by the manufacturer. It MUST be carefully cut out of the canopy from below. However, this is no problem with a sharp craft knife. The set consists of four (4) components cockpit main body (2 variants) HUD (without windshield) control stick cable line (print 2x) First insert the HUD component into the model. The green HUD plate supplied is reused and glued into the component. The cockpit is then simply inserted into the cut-out. The whole thing can then be glued together. The cockpit does NOT claim to be 100% true to the original. Compromises have been deliberately made here in order to be able to install the components in the canopy as easily as possible and not to restrict the space for the flight battery. 21.12.2023 - I am happy about your likes. Leave me a rating too. 30.08.2023 - Added a few new details for a better look. 21.06.2023 - Uploaded additional information. 31.05.2023 - Uploaded new parts (stick & cable) 23.05.23 - Uploaded improved construction and new fitting framework, sold separately. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/cockpitframe-detailausbau-fuer-freewing-eurofighter-typhoon-1-11

              2. Cockpit Frame
Here you get a visually sophisticated extension set for the cockpit extension of the Eurofighter "Typhoon" - Spanish Air Force - Tiger Meet 2018 Livery - Scale 1/11 - from the company FREEWING. These models complement the already available cockpit interior with some beautiful components. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/cockpit-ausbau-fuer-eurofighter-typhoon-freewing-1-11 The set consists of a further six (6) components: 1x frame arch with holder for the (3) rear-view mirrors. 1x rear-view mirror (print 3x) 1x Frame plate, right side panel 1x frame plate, left side panel 1x frame plate rear section 1x Canopy frame lifting device This cockpit frame does NOT claim to be 100% true to the original. Compromises have been deliberately made here in order to be able to install the components in the canopy as easily as possible.

              3. Pilot?
I wanted to upgrade the pilots in my Freewing F-14 (64mm) jet. I took the full-pilot model found here and cropped it for use in the smaller Freewing jet. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1761697 I also took the helmet from this model and used it as a basis for my modifications: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1105001 I updated the head/helmet to a more modern style and put a face shield on to simplify printing/painting. These are just about the right size/fit for the FW Mini F-14, but note that the RIO position needs to have part of the bottom cut off for it to fit properly in the plane at the right height.

Search Tip - Often just 'Freewing' 'Flightline' 'FMS' yields the best results when searching Cults, Thingiverse etc

              • Yep that's the ones. You have to make the HUD screen and I made some hoses from 2.5mm copper wire. Screens inside were made by cutting small squares of clear plastic, painting landscape and plane shape in clear Tamiya paint then sticking chrome tape behind to simulate illumination. Same chrome tape for rear view mirrors.
Added weight was 75g, still managed 30mm aft CG without using the supplied weight. 10S SMC 4400mah HVLi . Removed airbrake and fit a 4S in the space, cover held down by magnet and razor blade embedded in foam.

                  • I didn't use the pilot file above. The pilot is printed with the main cockpit file.

                        • Hello with the typhoon 8s airbrake seems it only open or shut. Is it possible to use a 3 pos switch to config half open???

                          • No, the mechanism is basically a retract unit repurposed as the airbrake mechanism.
