We was joking.... I don't use adapters but they are safer than plugging a XT90 into a EC5, BTW a XT60 in a EC3 is okay, they have the same size bullets in them.

Anyone have the color codes for the paint match by chance? I got some hangar rash from transporting...Speaking of, what's the best spackle-type fix for EPO foam? I've used all kinds of things but nothing that makes me say YES! That's it!My YouTube RC videos:

Aros, I have no clue about your 'touch up' color, but as for spackle or filler, I've been using Sherwin Williams "Shrink Free Spackling" ($7.00 USD +/- for 32 oz) as per Chris Wolfe (The R/C Geek). I like it, though I over fill the blemishes and dry sand back to the surface once the filler dries (30 minutes tops usually) I then lightly brush 2 or so coats on the area with Minwax Semi Gloss Clear Acrylic. Anything type will do here to seal it. Let that cure 4-6 hours then wet sand, prime, wet sand, color coat. Make sense? Works well if you want that OEM finish, otherwise skip the prime coats and go straight to color. Best, LB"I am having an extraordinary ordinary life."~Lucky B*st*rd~

Well, he told us just how much up trim ("negative 80") but that information is useless because (1) we don't know where he started, was it at zero or some other amount with the wings forward (2) what were the units? On a Spektrum the units of subtrim, for example, do not map 1:1 to units on the +100% to -100% scale of the channel output. (3) how much trim you need depends on where the CG is, and he didn't ever tell us that, and (4) not everyone flies Spektrum.Originally posted by Evan D View PostLook how much elevator he had to add to fly with the wings swept @19:50.
So all things considered there was some nice flying in the video but it was pretty useless as a review.

I said it in the other build thread on RCG but I stand firm in my belief that Freewing would have tackled these issues differently. Yes, yes, call me a Freewing Fanboy but they've been world leaders in EPO warbirds and jets for many years so I feel confident in my opinion. No, they are not perfect, we saw that with the sub-par servo issues in recent years but they are about as good as you are going to get at the moment when it comes to manufacturing these jets and warbirds we love.Originally posted by f4u ausie View PostHave u watched rc plane reviewer ,, had his own troubles,, like many..... looks like alot of up mix req folding wings.... shifts cg..... not req on fwi g f-14 .....?.
Having said that, I absolutely LOVE the competition. I am very, very grateful for XFly, and others. It keeps everyone "on the ball" which ultimately leads to a better product for us as consumers and flyers of these models.
It's also a reminder why Hobby Squawk (obviously owned and operated by Motion RC) is such a great place...Even if we don't sell the model, we know the importance of inclusivity...It really doesn't matter who produces or distributes a new model...We are all lovers of aviation and RC flying, period. I will always have my personal opinions and affinity towards certain brands of course, like anyone else, but the bottom line is we all want the same thing. A beautiful model that is engineered marvelously, scale, and delivered with flight dynamics we can all stand behind.
I am just happy someone brought the B-1 to the market! She's a gorgeous gal!My YouTube RC videos:

IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE.
Check out this post on RCG:
It shows a failure of the sweep arm on the wing where the sweep ball joint attaches, with paint or crazing showing on the fracture surface.
This shows that a crack was present much of the way through the part before the part was installed, and was an accident waiting to happen.
I checked mine and it has the exact same defect.
This is a safety of flight issue and needs to be thoroughly investigated.

I just assembled mine yesterday, and upon checking today i don't see any cracks. What i did notice upon assembly is the wing sweep mechanism having just a bit more travel than the actual wing sweep. Result is a lot of stress on the ball joint, which in combination with possible cracks is not good. I sanded a bit off the aluminum part where the wing sits when in position, that way i have no more stress on the ball joints ..
It won't fix the crack problem, but sure will help...
the arrow in the photo shows what i mean..

Didier

Just be aware that a hairline crack may be invisible to the naked eye.Originally posted by Aros View PostYikes. I'll be checking that first thing when I get back from vacation.
Apparently BH has known there's a problem for some time and is willing to SELL you a reinforcement. Very gracious and generous of them.

Just be aware that a hairline crack under paint may be invisible to visual inspection. I saw nothing on mine until it broke. Then paint on the fracture surface showed that the crack was already there before the wing was painted.Originally posted by didier n View PostI just assembled mine yesterday, and upon checking today i don't see any cracks.

When FW/MRC had a problem with the MiG29 elevator servos in the first batch back in September 2020 they handled it transparently and with class, sending free upgrade servos to all early buyers.
So far I'm not seeing that from BH with this B-1B. Apparently they've known of this problem for some time, and even have a reinforcement that they're willing to SELL you.
