Just took the plunge myself and actually ordered the 8’s version. Looking forward to setting up hopefully maiden this weekend, planning on doing the battery tray mod and see about stiffing the front gear spring as was suggested for grass ops. I went duel 4K 4400 4’s packs so I can save my 6s for my other jets. Either way will post on how things go she’s a beautiful plane, seems to be another FreeWing Motion hit keep it up guys

From what I understand from several owners you want the blue ESC red and black ones have had the only issues I’ve heard about

Hello Jon, your videos and explanations are very valuable to us pilots and bring courage and the joy of experimentation into the hobby. I agree exactly with you and am looking forward to the video E-Flite F-16 80mm 6S vs. Freewing F-16 90mmm V2 (8S)! I have set my Freewing 90mm V2 exactly with your AS3X+ values and will do the first flight that way. Of course with 3-stage switch: off-on-hold. You see, I trust you! ...and of course I take responsibility myself, that's clear. I know about F-16 jets. But your input is also very interesting for experienced pilots. Greetings from Switzerland.

    Hello
i am using a 6s and 2s setup. The 2s always comes in with like 20 percent left. The 6s will have approximately 50 percent left. Both batteries are from same manufacturer and both are 6000 mah. My question is. Is this normal?

You really come off in a bad light. I could use different words that, while appropriate, might make me look like a douche.

It is a FreeWing issue and is specific to the 6S version. Motion as a vendor has sent replacement blue ESCs to all that have asked and I have to say many that have asked did so with no issue other than the different way the red one beeped which is how those ESCs were designed by Hobby Wing.

"because I decided to fly a plane that was shipped with defective parts." Really? What defective parts? The truth is that you are complaining about nothing. And I laugh about your spending thousands, I did that last month alone.

A couple have noted an ESC fire and those should be rightfully warrantied.

If you wanted a blue 120A bad enough, maybe this would help. Freewing 120A ESC with 8A BEC and Reverse Thrust Function [092D002001] Motion RC

Why has no one clarified the ESC issue this jet came with, specifically the fact that the ESC installed from the factory is not beeping the battery's cell count? Some are saying that these ESCs count the battery cells differently, but to this day, nobody from MotionRC has clarified this issue to clear this new jet's reputation.

Motion RC is aware of this issue but has not provided any clarification on the matter. Why is this? What are they hiding from us? I have spent thousands of dollars on airplanes from their store, but when I asked them this simple question, their response was that they referred my inquiry directly to Freewing and are waiting for their response. In the meantime, my plane is still grounded in my hangar room. I was going to send the "bad" ESC back and wait for a replacement, but replacements are on backorder without an ETA on availability.

I'm going to maiden fly my jet as is and publish a video including screenshots of all my chat conversations and emails from MotionRC related to the aforementioned "ESC issue." If the plane crashes due to ESC failure, I'll blame them for it. Of course, I'm fully aware that if that happens, I won't be able to claim compensation for it because I decided to fly a plane that was shipped with defective parts. However, at least I'll create awareness for others to think twice about whether or not to trust this store with their money.

Order 802627 and Ticket number T415054.

The BEC powers your servos, lights and retracts. I would get at least a 7A. I don't see a 5A BEC listed under BECs.

Not sure what 1920kV motor you have, what brand is it?

    Thanks Ev D,
I was trending to go that way. I'll be running a 6v pack and a 1920kv, I have 2 5a Bec's comming from Motionrc. Do I need a 7a with the 130 or will the 5a be ok.?

The new F-16 has 4075 1350Kv or 3668-1960Kv depending on 8S or 6S. Assuming 6S 3668-1960Kv many report higher than 120A on a fresh battery, some with HV packs are reporting over 130. I would not use the 100A you have. Of the ones in your post the 130A would be what I would use but you'll need a BEC.

    I've got a new FreeWing f-16 that's an ARF since I already have a couple 90mm 12 blades.
The specs on the motor 3668-1926 kv that calls for an ESC 120a and 7a. I have a freewing 130a with no Bec and a Predator 100a with a 7a Bec, and a Dlux Tunagy 100/120a with a 5.5 Bec.
Also, I have several inrunner motors from 1000kv to 1920kv. I'd like to be able to use the Predator 100a and the 1920kv, but I don't enough about the combinations of these things so I'm asking.
Thanks for any suggestions or feed back.
