And you needed 600 grams to get the CG OK, that looks promising for my combination... :-) Also looking good that the weight is still around 12kg with your filled to the brim RC compartment. Maybe mine will also end up not too obese.

Small update on my progress (posted already on RCU... :-) ) with some pictures.
Corrected the motormount and drilled holes for the UMS. Upper row of holes are on the upper edge of the motormount, not super but for now I'll continue. Reinforced all seams with CA and resin, guess it will hold up.
Mounted the UMS, seems to fit nicely.
Made the cabling in the wings and cobbled some connectors using LEMO 10 pole stepped contacts (thanks Ruud!). Connectors in the fuselage will have some cable slack and click into wingmounted supports.
Wings are finished except some details with the gear doors.
Next up will be balancing and placing last components in the fuselage.Attached FilesComment

Fitted the cowl and made a baffle to fit.
Made a transport stand with some foldable legs for assembly at the field (to be able to extend the lg)
Went to the Prowing last week and treated myself to a very nice Ramoser Varioprop.

First time taxiing at the field. After some struggles to get everything up and running today I finally succeeded; Victory! Had to add 170 gram of lead pellets to the very rear point of the fuselage (the tip after the horizontal stabilizer. Did not weigh the final weight, but I guesstimate to be around 12.4kgs (with one battery and no tank, pump and lead it was 11.7).
Damaged one wing in the process, so still work to do.

And I glued in a plate of Carbon for the servos in the wings.

Looking really good! And all that in less than 11kgs! Wow!
My maiden last sunday was a no-go. The weather was not nice (to windy to my liking for a maiden of a big heap of money - to my standards at least... :-) ). I did go to the field and tested some small fixes. Also used the opportunity to go through the last ccs of gas for the running in. So next will be 1:40 gas and maybe a little leaner needle setting (my UMS friend sprays a lot of black goo on everything behind it) as I made the mixture a tad richer from factory because of the running in.
Weather is looking favorable next sunday, so I hope nobody does a raindance over here and then we'll see.
Maybe I see a chance to take a flight ready weight measurement to replace the guesstimate.Comment

Today was maiden day. Everything went smooth-ish. LG was a little bit stubborn so I have not retracted it yet, it binded a little in the wingcavities (already taken care of). Decided to fiddle around with the needle settings for engine, ended up being too rich and running a littlebit scruffy. Ample power acceleration wise, speed is not that impressive; need more pitch on the prop (now still the wooden 26x10). First landing was to careful speedwise, so a little hop. Second and third were way better already, need to get some feel for the landingspeed. Needed hardly any trim in regular flight and a little bit with the flaps. That being said. it was all with the gear out. Friendly flier with a nice presence in the air and an impressive growl. I'm happy!
Ow, forgot to tell: AUW is 12,43kg without fuel.Comment
