Thank you both, gents, I did end up getting the FL Spit, after all. It is already resting in my living room, waiting to be fitted and brought to life.
And I do not regret this decision one bit! ☺

I think it was briefly discussed here previously but I will try to get more insights still: does anyone have a strong opinion whether one should go with the FL 1600mm Spit vs. the AVIOS 1450mm Spit (HobbyKing)? The size difference is obvious, but I am asking more about the quality of production, flight characteristics, availability of spares... Whatever comes to your mind :)

    Thank you thoughts and experiences,

As it stands today I won't buy any HK aircraft because of a few reasons, spares and discontinuing the planes while saying they are simply out of stock being the two top reasons. If this was a perfect world I'd still buy the FL. Other than to respect Tom Hunt for his effort in the design I have no desire to consider one. That said the pan and tilt module designed for the Avios Spit is great and I have them in a number of planes but it has also been out of stock for years.

Put the Mr RC Sound system in mine with 2 transducers. Works nicely for my needs!

Same for me but I have the lights, flaps, and landing gear plugged into the blue box, everything else is a direct connection to the receiver.

PK, I fly Futaba, I did not use the Blue Box either. I opted to add a gyro, though I have never used it. The plane is rock solid with a CG about a 1/2 inch aft of OEM recommendation. I fly 6S 6250 mah. My RX is tucked below and slightly aft of the ply plate I added for the gyro. Don't know that I've helped you. Best, LB

I fly 6S 5000mAh or 2x3S 5000mAh, some other guys added 50g in nose. As I mentioned, now I have 35g, but probably reduce little more. Last flight was in wind. I am not sure if she is more senstive on EL during landing or it was just a wind. I will see in couple of days.

For transport I must remove the wings and I do not use the FL "blue plugs box". Would you guys share some shots of receivers in your Spitfires, please?
Now I am decided to use one multi plug for AI,FL,LG with 5cm leads from RX.

She looks great! I see you had to add weight to the nose as well. Funny how some of them need that, mine was the same. I was showing DaveGee how much I had to add, I believe he didn't add any. I usually use my 4500 6s all the way forward and my 5000 6s slightly back. So much better than when she was tail heavy, wish I'd known about that before doing a fair amount of damage to her.
