My delivery shows Monday (I'm in Garner, NC, a suburb of Raleigh), even thought I always get things in 2 days via UPS Ground from MRC. I called UPS and they said that even thought I created a MyUPS account, it's up to the shipper (MRC) to enable Saturday delivery. I called Motion and the VERY NICE gentleman I spoke to said that they confirmed with UPS that my Zip is in the Saturday delivery range. He said he was going to call UPS and see what the deal is, then call me back. Hoping to hear good news.

UPS is slightly frustrating. We called UPS twice. They confirmed we do not have to do anything to "enable" Saturday delivery of ground packages. In fact, there is not anything we can enable regarding Saturday delivery according to our UPS account rep. All ground packages are automatically eligible for Saturday delivery when you live in an area with the new UPS Saturday delivery. You live in an area which does have Saturday delivery but for some reason UPS cannot confirm if they will deliver it Saturday or Monday.

FYI for all - UPS has rolled out Saturday delivery of all packages to 4,600 cities in the USA. This means UPS delivers any package (ground, 3 day, 2 day, etc) 6 days per week to anywhere in those 4,600 cities. I suspect they will roll our more Saturday delivery areas at some point.

Seems most likely I won't get thrashed, as by waffling for a few hours on this purchase, I had a low enough number to miss the first truck. So most likely it won't get to Palatine departure scan stage until the wee hours of tomorrow, meaning it won't get out of Maumee until late tomorrow night, and it will probably miss the sort at the Wixom arrival point Saturday. Which means MAYBE, I can pick it up from the warehouse Saturday (without the wife)... :)

It's more than slightly frustrating. I can't name how many times I've ordered something that ships on a Wednesday or Thursday, and watch it hit Raleigh on Friday, get up Saturday to refresh my tracking to see those three magic words of "Out For Delivery", only to watch it sit in a Raleigh warehouse all weekend until Monday morning.

I believe it was Devin (my sincere apologies if I got his name wrong; I had to go outside to speak to him as there's no privacy at work and the wind was blowing 25+ MPH and it was hard to hear him) who pretty much echoed your sentiments. He said his rep was like, "Yeah, your customer's Zip (27529) is in our Saturday delivery area but we can't guarantee it will be delivered by Saturday". Devin said he was going to follow up tomorrow to see what the updated delivery date is going to be... if it's going to hit Raleigh on Saturday, but not be delivered until Sunday *shakes fist at UPS* he's going to request it to be held at a distribution center and I'll go pick it up. It's only about 20 minutes from where I live and I thanked him profusely for going above and beyond in trying to help me get my toy a couple of days early, all during what I'm sure is a very busy day for you guys.

Let the people who kvetch about a $500 foam jet get THAT kind of customer service from The Fruit Stand, Copy King, or any other 'discount' hobby site. You guys are the best and this is the EXACT reason why I continue to give the vast majority of my business to you fine folks at MotionRC.

OK F-4 Drivers. The question I pose to you is this: I am awaiting the ARF +. I've got a FW 12 blade w/1550kv or JF90 w/1900kv standing by for this jet. both rated for 6s. Or should I just order the 9 blade/1750kv when everything gets here. I've gotta have that "WHOOSH", but I don't want to be flying at 100% just to keep it in the air. I will be staying with the stock 130A esc. Just asking.......?

I will be testing the FMS90mm/12blade/1900kv setup in mine with a YEP 150A esc. Gotta have that 12 blade turbiney (yes it's a word..ask Capt. Mike) sound.

UPS still says Monday delivery, even though it's now actually in transit. I'll check again tomorrow morning to see if the delivery day gets updated... assuming it hits NC some time tomorrow of course. The plot thickens...

You will notice very little difference between the new 9 blade and old 12 blade sound wise. The sound is slightly different but the "woosh" is still there but you get a significantly more efficient fan in the 9 blade. I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks. I feel like there is a quality to the 9 blade that actually makes it sound more jet like to me.

Mine will get a JF90 with a HET 700-68-1680 motor on 8S. Can't wait!

My ex tolerated the hobby, but my current girlfriend that LOVES the hobby and enjoys coming to watch me fly. She encourages me to buy the jets I want. She even told me I'm not allowed to maiden the Phantom unless she's there to watch. I ain't complaining. :)

Thanx Tom. No doubt that the 9 blade is/will be more efficient. That's already been proven. Except for my FW A-10/2X80mm, I'm used to 3 min. flights, which is what I would expect out of the 12 blade/1550kv. The set up in the A-10, as you know, has a certain sound that mimics the sound of a real A-10. Wouldn't sound right in a "Spook". May just order the 9 blade set up as a upgrade, if I don't like how the 12 blade performs....Got to use what I've got on the shelves for now. I don't mind being Retired, but my RC budget takes a real beating nowadays....
