I have to make sure that when I transport the plane I support the nose ahead of the antenna to keep it from being bent/torn off.
    LOL..... of course....

Should I pop on the inrunner version, or wait for the arf plus to come back in stock, and go for an 8s set up ? Any suggestions are welcome.
It really just depends on what you want to do. The stock high performance set up is really good! And if you don't like it you can swap out the motor to try the ones I used. 8s is more expensive and heavy but you will get great performance with that too.. I opted for a custom 6s set up that has worked out really well for me. 4082 1600kv Leopard inrunner or 4092 1730kv Leopard inrunner in the Freewing inrunner fan with a 200amp Red Brick ESC has been bullet proof thus far. I use the China Hobby Line 6s 30c 6200mah pack with great results. From what I have seen you can get the same sort of performance but slightly higher amp draw than 8s. Have you seen the videos I have posted? There are a lot here of you go back a little bit.

But in the build video, at 16:45, Capt Mike is gluing it at the canopy latch just ahead of the speed brake hinge ?

        • Yeah, the instructions never really cover it. But there is a slot cut for it under the nose, and you can clearly see the correct placement in this pic. Although I will say there is also an antenna behind where the canopy latch is, so I guess either spot is fine.

              • The longer I own my jets the more careless I get sometimes. On the bright side now I have room for a new twin 80/90mm A-10...

                • Other than bummer, only one thing to say. Order quickly if you want the A-10 and don't expect it before late June. Pre-order 1 on it it should be shipping late next week (I hope)

                  • I'm using a Spektrum AR9100 RX that requires 6V input so I need to replace the UBEC. Will any 6V 8A ubec suffice? Will these servos work at 6V?

                    thanks!

                      • Ok well I got the gyro installed on the plane. Since I am using the Lemon 7ch I needed to remove the air brake servo wire which is fine with me. I rarely use it anyway and would much rather have a gyro instead of a brake that is not very useful...it worked out pretty well but the results were puzzling. I turned down all gain and used just a tad on aileron. it helped but there was still quite a bit or wobble. So I decided to bump the rudder and see what the plane did. That is where all the wobble is coming from!! It did some wonky stuff when I touched the rudder! So the rudder or vertical stabs are the reason for the rock. I will be tweaking the rudder and aileron gain to get it all right.. I may even take a video of the results too. My landing was perfect but the landing gear had been cracked for a while and finally gave up. I will repair that and then get it back into the air...

                        • Well I got 3 flights on my F-15 yesterday and am now in love with it all over again. I have been fiddling with my Lemon RX w/3 axis gyro to get rid of the wiggle and finally have. What blew me away was how much rudder gain was required to do that!! The gain is almost all the way up and now the plane goes where you point it with no wibble wobble at all!! Now it flies and tracks just like the real deal! I looked amazing yesterday and now I don't want to stop flying it! Landings were buttery smooth, the approach was rock solid with no tipping. No video this time but I will get some next time. I did low slow passes and low fast passes. All were rock solid and need to be seen to be appreciated.... video to come!

You could retain the use of the air brake by connecting it to a multi switch that is controlled by the same channel as your retracts. Check out this video to see what I mean.

                            • Got 3 flights on my F-15 yesterday. This plane flies so great! Just wish I could get 4+ minutes out of it. I put the HiPo fan in it, so I don't have to fly at full power most of the time. But, I'm still just getting 3 1/2 minutes from taxi out. At 1 minute I start the landing cycle and usually pull in when the clock runs out. That leaves me with 20-25% on my Admiral 6S 5000 pack. Every once and a while I'm down to 15-18%, and the battery is smokin'.

It's a great 3 1/2 minutes, though. Nothing looks better than that plane screaming by and then pulling a hard back away ----- Love it!

Anyone know how this plane flies with the missile package? I guess I'd be at full power all the time then.

                              • I have the high performace power pkg in my F-15 and was flying with all the weapons on it right from the first flight, it flew really good but had a little tracking issue I didn't like, so a few flights ago I took off the weapons and pods, Wow is all I can say, it tracked so much better and the speed of course is better, So yes it flies good with it loaded up and you don't have to fly at full power but it flies so much better clean. Hope this helps with your decision, it does look better loaded up though, looks ready for a mission.

I don't need it. It never worked right for my style of landing anyway.

I got some more great flights with mine this past weekend! Thankfully a friend got a good high quality 4k video review of my set up. I will post before and after videos so that you can see the difference...

It would be nice if there was some sort of kit on the market that allowed for the jettison of the stores. That way you can take off fully loaded then half way through the flight you drop the load, enjoy some clean flight time and land with empty stores just like a real jet would have coming back from a sortie.

                                    • Can I use an Admiral 4500 mah pack in this jet? I know I will only get about 3 minutes of flight time, my concern is will it balance out ok with it.
