In my quest to make one of these into a more classic/NG style engine pod for my P8 conversion. I have grafted a WR 737 pod onto a AL37 engine hardpoint.
yes I bought a set of AL37 engine pods just to hack up. But the upside is, I can scavenge the plastic parts and make the WR nacelles fan removable.(the

For those considering a larger ride...re-posting from the MiG forum.

I showed another member the idea of using ramekin cups and miniature bungee cords + RTV Silicon Rubber/Adhesive to chock/secure planes in the truck bed for those of you who have trucks. Worth showing this again, even if I have previously posted this idea. You need to use the bungees to secure against bounce-outs and tip-ups during acceleration or rough road travel. See Zoom in...

Should you need to carry some cargo...twist off the ramekin cups and re-glue them once you are done. WalMart houseware department is where I got the remekin cups. The various cup placements are for other birds.

Still it is easier to remove the AL37 winglets. Happy New Year!

LOL...yea...gonna hit about the same spot in my Malibu. But, gonna be tough taking a couple more planes. Another reason to get a bigger ride.😋

    I can relate!
Got into RC in 2014- in 2015 I purchased a Ram 1500 Crew Cab with the 6'4" bed to haul the aircraft and she does a fine job of it too.
Definitely my most expensive RC purchase to date...

If in the future I find myself considering a box trailer or a large van- I'm going to have to sit down and re-think my direction in this hobby.

Considering that my den and dining / build room already look like the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, I'm in trouble when the misses gets home...
It's ok honey, we're going shopping this weekend for a larger home but I have 30 days to get this bird operational before the warranty expires.

On to the graphics,, I'm rolling with the retro Delta Widget livery.
It will be a hybrid of the pictured Delta 737-800 "what if" livery very similar to what Delta ran on their 737-200's and the magnificent scheme on 727-200.

Ordered this bone girl and just waiting for FedEx to get it here to Az. Bloody week! Killing me especially since I paid the extra $10 shipping. Really was hoping to have it this week... while I'm off work...to fly this weekend but....Noooooo(John Belushi voice) damn holidays!
So...may be posting here soon but I've been reading some posts. Good info!
Now...I need to get the typical airline chime audio file for me transmitter! Maybe the safety announcement too...lol.

Is it a longer plane? Maybe that's why it "looks" thinner.

Maybe not quite a 707 but someone here did a 4 engined tanker, even had a little F-16 stuck to the refueling probe. A 707 would need much different looking nacelles and a thinner fuse.

Hey guys, for anyone that has crashed their AL37 I am looking for both the left and right engine pod mounts that are in the wings for a project I am building. Willing to pay for them and postage.

Let me know if you have them! You can't buy just those unfortunately..

    Thanks,

    Joe

Thanks for the nice comments fellas!
Here are some pics of the process.
It was as this point after applying the right side decals, and knowing I still had to do the left side and vertical stab, that I wanted to jump off my balcony...
I use a small squirt bottle with water and few drops of dawn dish washing soap mixed in to spray the sticky side of the decal so you can float the decals into position and the use a plastic card to squeegee out the water from under the decal.
Don't rush removing the decal application paper as it take s a while to dry so you can remove the backing easily and don't lift the decal from the surface.
Also is a photo of the paint I had matched at Home Depot- scanned the blue on the decal.
I gave Callie the RGB values for Delta Blue and she matched the color perfectly. The paint match was close but we had to add a bit more black to match the decal.
I think this is as close as we can get to a match.
Another gentleman on this thread posted the Boeing Gray color code that I used for the wings

Beautiful graphics and excellent job applying them. I hear ya on not wanting to press your luck with the nose and under belly paint!

Well here is the Delta 737 Max Widget.
I think I'm about done other than adding the flag and N numbers and all that's left to do really is fly her.
I could paint the nose black and the belly silver but I consider myself lucky up to this point having not pulled any of the base white finish off.
I was extremely careful applying the graphics but I really don't ever want to do this job again... lol... and this comes from someone who used to paint and apply graphics professionally...
Callie did a superb job on the graphics as always!
I assume anyone else that wants the AL37 in this Delta Widget livery, Callie now has the decal files from this project.
