It's hard to tell just from one short video of what resembled three maiden flights, but a few things looked promising. A few boxes were ticked in my 'consumer evaluation over the internet with limited video' chart. 1. I'm sure the wind helped but the takeoff rolls were short enough. They weren't struggling to get into the air. 2. The planes flew and with a little variation in speed, meaning not just straight high speed passes, though it would be nice to see a couple of those as well. 3. They didn't stall and spin in with somewhat slower flight and drag from the gear being down. 4. They didn't exude horrible behavior with not so perfect landings, but the not perfect landing envelope wasn't fully explored, so who knows yet.

I'm still interested, maybe more interested! And I'm still waiting to lay my money down!

I want to see it fly more. The solt videos are well produced (great imagery and thematic music, similar to the B2 release) and make it look awesome but are snippets. And 410 productions does have a brief snippet of it flying with the wings swept. But again a full skilled hands flight video is lacking. I am curious where the usual Xfly generated youtube videos are. They typically show a full flight and somewhat the capabilities. I'm eager to see more, and I'm not just shooting it down. People can hype the reputation of a company all they want, and call it blasphemy and hypocrisy when it's questioned all they want, truth is truth, and this fool and his money are not easily convinced by influence. That's always my point. Being critical is necessary. I want to see the unfiltered proof!

(The fan glam and celebrity aspect of youtube, or the assumed expertise derived from just having a camera, uploading videos, or being in a video resembling a knowledgeable person or cool guy, is flat absurd.)

As someone with an overpriced MBA and extensive sales and marketing experience in aerospace, my opinion (not that anyone asked for it), is BH hasn’t done a good job controlling the narrative here. They rushed to throw a go to market strategy together as a response to the leaks before the product or marketing and comms were finalized.

There are always leaks out of China on the next iPhone release, but Apple doesn’t rush it to market as a result.

If it were me I would have stuck to whatever release schedule was planned so the product could be finalized and properly represented and introduced to the market. It’s been pretty clear in the community that preorders aren’t ideal. I preordered because I wanted to secure my spot in the first shipment and I could cancel my order and receive a full refund if I saw anything I didn’t like.

The best release campaign I’ve seen in this hobby so far was what Motion did with the Freewing B-2.

If anyone affiliated with BH would like help with the next release, I’m happy to sign an NDA and provide support for free.

Last few posts. All very fair assessments and opinions. I still want one but not in a hurry. I'll let the Guinea pigs with deep pockets and greatest need/want rush in. To reiterate ............ nothing against BH regardless of past sketchy history. Their "boys" marketing on the other hand .........................

Most people have not a clue to how business and the reality of business operates in a evolving landscape. I don't think most keyboard hero's know how much logistics it takes to get these products built, boxed and shipped on any timeline that's under 1 years time. Ive been to china 3 times and Vietnam once for hobby support and guidance for some very large rc brands. Its impressive to say the least and any marketer or logistics personell rather new or 10 years experienced will run into problems every time due to the constant changing environment.

I know what you mean but I just get so pissed sometimes. I belong to alot of forums for hobby stuff and I say very little, mostly I speak to criticize or prop up a product based on my own experience and will give my 2 cents if someone asks. Out of the years Ive been doing hobbies and the many different forums its always the same folks who want to play god or know it all stepping on toes in the process. I bite my tongue for the most part but sometimes I just got to YELL!!!!!funny THING AT LEAST IN THE RC HELI WORLD!!! The know it all's cant fly worth a poop.

Justwingit posted another video on YouTube with Jeremy Solt on the sticks I believe. Just what I've been wanting to see, wings swept, hard banking turn with wings out, minor aerobatics, and a nice close up landing. It looks awesome!

I'll probably still hold my money and will probably have to wait in line a long time to get one. But it looks promising so far.

Twice he banked to about a 45. One roll. All with extended wings… He did a couple laps with wings retracted. And yes a nice landing. Overall a good flight and video.

DB, I understand and I replied to your PM.

So, as I wrote to ALL and evidently must do so again,

I have shut down this Topic before, so if it's the subject that is so volatile, or the manufacturers that are so volatile, or the distributing companies that are so volatile,

I do not give a ______. Enough guys with the name-calling. Nope can't do it, ever. No bad emojis either.

Comment good or bad, just leave out the personal stuff.

I have waited years for a B-1 to come to fruition. I just wish Freewing would have made it first, but that's how it goes sometimes. Hey Freewing, can ya do us a solid and come out with a Concorde? <Nudge>
Some of the builders at AEF looked at the nacelles and were talking that they could kitbash them in some custom Concorde build.

Thanks. Much appreciated. That was indeed a spectacular performance. As I said before, the guy knows how to fly.

                                    Loaded today:

Aros beat me to it. It's a new one.

Notice how they make an effort to block the camera angle when the battery bay is open or putting on the cover ASAP. Must be really messy in there or there's some secret squirrel stuff going on.
Nice wings swept in rolling flight. To bad they don't show reverse. Perhaps that was the "option" that wasn't in these prototypes. He said he wanted to hear from people about what they think. Maybe he was just talking to the "live" audience but judging from what's been going on at the Guppy, they can't handle much of the stuff that people are "thinking". It's like some press conferences we see on the news. They'll answer any questions asked but only if we screen them first. Too much James Bond stuff.
"Justwingit" has done more to promote and advertise this plane so far than what BH has done. Good on him.

I will say I think the model "should" be fairly easy to land with the wings out. Seems like she would have a penchant for slow, floaty landings especially with flaps. I don't see this jet being the case where you have to come in hot.

Maybe not a real good comparison, but my F-14 on full flaps comes in pretty slow. However, also at nearly 5 kg, it rolls forever. If you've got a short runway, look out! You'll shear off the nose gear on the lip at the end of the runway.

                                        • That's a valid point. My club's paved runway is decent sized but not oversized so I can see how an extensive roll could create an issue as the dreaded longer grass with divets awaits any model at the end of the runway.

Guess I will have to learn to flare and touchdown at the very breach of the runway, lol.
