THANK YOU!!!! I haven't bought anything from them as I was waiting for a reply to questions. The amazing thing is I got their information and contact info off what appeared to be Freewing website. I was a bit confused why Freewing would be selling FlightLine products. Is Freewing and FlightLine at all connected?Originally posted by fieldofdreamsflyer View Post

Dear Squawk Hawk Members,
My apologies so let me try and un-ring the bell. I've purchased most of my stuff from Motion primarily because there's no other source and unfortunately since they have no real competition it's their way or the highway. I'm not one to step over a dollar to pick up a nickel but competition keeps everyone honest. I will give Motion credit for having fairly good support and customer service but the only reason I got annoyed with them is they want to charge my credit card just to reserve it. Been to that movie with them and didn't like that feature. The last time I did that with Motion they charged me and didn't deliver for almost 6-months. They kept rescheduling delivery. I think I'll wait till the bird is in stock this time. I'm not interested in giving them another interest free loan for 6-mothns. :)

FlightLine RC is a subsidiary brand produced by Freewing. It was created to differentiate between Prop Plane (FlightLine) and EDF (Freewing) and we (Motion) have a heavy hand in the design of all the aircraft they produce.Originally posted by Grover54 View Post

Welcome to Squawk Grover. Can I ask what model you waited 6 months for? The Corsair will be here in a few short weeks.

I think we (at least I have) have all made a bad first impression. You've owned up to it, so that's a big credit to your name. Bravo.
James has explained the relationship of Freewing to Flightline to Motion so not necessary to go into that any further. Insofar as Motion having "the only game in town", that is not necessarily true. RC Castle in Hong Kong is also a legitimate dealer of Freewing products and have even been praised by Motion for being an upstanding company. Unfortunately, Motion always gets first dibs on new Flightline products so RC Castle doesn't carry them till some time after the initial release. Then further down the time line, other legitimate sellers will carry some of the products as well. One such example is Find-Hobby, but they don't sell them till a long time after. You may also see AliExpress sell some products but they too, are much later down the time line.

Ya know Grover, I'm no Motion Fan Boy, Trust me We're surround by them. I also think there "new" model selection sucks, "Opinion". Who knows, we just could have an new C-130, instead of a new Beautiful Corsair, (I got 4 of em, thought I had 3, forgot about the new one in the box). So to say I have my issues would be an understatement!Originally posted by Grover54 View PostDear Squawk Hawk Members,

But if I had the choice, I would probably float that loan, and buy it from Motion. Most of all for the local country wide support, you will think it worth it man, their customer support would be worth that lead loan, or just wait and purchase it when it get's here. Might have to wait for the next batch if it sales out. I would do it for the support, & the support alone. Simple logic.
I purchase planes from all over the world, have purchased many direct from China companies. Warrantee issues always seem really slow, and very iffy. It's always a risk. Just my 2 cents. Motion folks are the best support you can get man! Just say the one ya get from over there has a severely gatored finish, Motion will replace it, China will just say no. Think about it, good support is important! Trust me I know the risk! Good luck!
As for my opinions, they are just that! Oh and by the way, Motion sponsors this forum, but last I checked this is an open forum, and all opinions are welcome as far as I'm concerned. Even us valued customers, that don't happen to be Fan Boys.
Best Regards
Woody

ALL people are welcome to Hobby Squawk as long as they follow the Code of Conduct set in place from the start. While we love when our customer family is appreciative of what we have set out to offer (world class support and quality RC aircraft), we don't care about nor expect everyone to be a "Fan Boy". We have always welcomed constructive criticism. In fact, we highly value it to help us improve on our services, support and model aircraft. What we do not tolerate is trolls, spammers or someone who chooses to be disruptive to the flow of this community, which we pride ourselves as being full of outstanding, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable RC pilots.
While we do own and operate this forum, we do not censor anyone if they are being critical of us, again, as long as they are abiding by the Code of Conduct. We do not censor opinions even if they are less than favorable towards us. We may defend ourselves if we feel the information is not accurate, otherwise we will always let someone speak their mind as long as it does not come at the cost of disrupting an otherwise productive thread.
We will continue to encourage open and honest commentary, regardless of the model or company it is aimed at.

Aros and All, Acknowledged and Agreed. Apologies if I offended with an overdose of protective commentary, certainly not my purview. May have taken offense where none was intended. At the risk of beating the proverbial "dead horse", consider me a "Fan Boy". I have been flying for just six years, about half of which were nitro planes before I went 100% foam/electric. I have to say I am mystified by any criticism of Motion RC's price point. When I compare the value of nav lights, retracts (reliable, oleo no less), flaps, and solid servos, all installed, not to mention the incredible detail to scale and livery options, with what the balsa community has to fork out, it is jaw dropping. Which is usually the reaction of my brothers in my local club when they see my Spitfire or A-10. The service is outstanding and I am continually impressed by the fact that their spare parts are very reasonably priced. And their planes perform...big time!
Personally I am grateful MRC chose to add their Corsair to a field of options that I considered disappointing, at best. I have wanted a Corsair from the beginning, but the choices were far from compelling until now. And to have the opportunity, as we do on this thread/forum, to have conversations directly with the lead designer of the aircraft, and to see not only his expertise in aeronautics, but his attention to detail as an obvious pilot and enthusiast himself, is as they say in the commercial, "priceless"!
Back to business, has anybody had any word about whistles in the oil cooler vents??? Rob aka Fan Boy

Ok-ok....let me clarify. Motion RC is a good resource for certain models and they have exceptional availability on those models that don't sell well but they seem to be always "Out of Stock" for months on some of the more popular models then they suddenly become discontinued. I understand Business 101 in terms of supply and demand but from where I sit as an Aerospace Engineer, if there was more competition out there we'd all benefit in terms of pricing and quality. I'll most likely buy the new FlightLine F4-U 1600mm Corsair from Motion (when it actually becomes available) but until then I'll keep looking for other options. Happy New Year to All!

Elbee, you are the last person in this community that would ever offend anyone on any level I can perceive. You set the tone my friend. Bravo Zulu!Originally posted by Elbee View Post

Great thread.... It is evident that all possess a " Growth Mindset" and I truly believe that is a critical factor in getting better, making ( and keeping) friends. I am a self diagnosed " Fan Boy" Let me tell you why. Not to sound like the dad who would walk 30 mile to school up hill both ways.... LOL... But I remember the late 80's and 90's ...
40 size P-51.
All wood kit $249
Covered in Mono Coat $30
OS 46 glow engine $160
Messy Glow fuel $30
Spring air retracts $150
Radio receiver serves $300
Mics Props and field gear Starter $200
Plus the time " OH THE TIME"
Quite a learning curve and quite expensive.....
When I found Motion .... Price , Performance, Selection, Community , Support , Quality, and just pure COOLNESS factor .... well.... Guys..
YOU HAD ME AT HELLO!

Hobby Squawkers,
The reason I joined this site is it popped up from a search on the FLine Corsair. Not sure where I missed it but I did not realize until a few messages in that this is a "Motion RC" owned and monitored forum. I'm a member of several forums and find them all a tremendous resource and very educational. I think HS will also be a valuable resource so if I've stepped on someone's exposed nerve forgive me.
I've been flying (RC) for a little over a year now and come up to speed fairly quickly. I now have 5 planes (Carbon Cub, Carbon Z, FMS P51, GP P-6E Hawk, FL P-38L) in the hanger and waiting to add the FLine F4U. I know many of you may consider me a neophyte which I obviously am but appreciate your patience since everyone has been a neophyte at some point in this hobby.
I fly all electric and just converted my Great Planes 78" P-6E Hawk ARF I found NIB. Though discontinued, I think this bird has become my favorite. It looks like there's not many Wood / Monokote ARF planes out there anymore and I think Motion ARFs are all foam. Does anyone out there know who makes a quality Wood / Monokote ARF like Great Planes? I welcome you input.
Thanks!
Grover

Phoenix Model has some of the best I have found, but I have had as much fun converting some of the old kits into electric. Horizon has a Piper ARF for under $150 that has tempted me and still does. I have 5 kits lined up to build for electric power, but will divert into scale scratch building as I enjoy flying these. I have found the foam models are an easy (spelled ‘inexpensive’)way to learn (or relearn) flight skills. Try VQ Warbirds also.Originally posted by Grover54 View PostHobby Squawkers,
