You can't go wrong with an AR630, AR631, or an AR637T Anyone of these work very well. I have the AR637T in mine

Great. Did you receive fitting instructions in the kit? I received mine last year but only just got around to fitting them and unsure whether I have lost the manual and possibly other parts which are shown on the Motion page but not contained in the box. Thanks

I just started assembling the floats for the Twin Otter, so I can fly it on the lake tomorrow and Friday at Joe Nall. I was a bit surprised when looking at the 4 aluminum supports, and then page 3 of the instructions. These ARE NOT plug and play! For some odd reason, Nexta makes you flatten the ends of the round aluminum float supports that connect the floats together (about 2 CM) and then drill the holes for the self-tapping screws that connect them to the top of the floats.. Okay, that's not too bad, just squeezing them flat in a vice and drilling small holes., no biggie.
The 2 aluminum struts that connect to the fuselage are a bit more challenging These two supports are flattened on one end, but not the other end, so you will have to flatten the one end, but then you need to bend the ends to the correct angle to connect to the fuselage and then the end that connects to the float. I guess my issue is why Nexta puts the burden on the end-user to correctly flatten the ends of the tubes, drill the holes, and then bend the ends to the correct angle. One wrong measurement or bend, then it won't be symmetrical. I called MotionRC this morning to ensure I was reading this correctly, and they said that's just how Nexta does it.

Has anyone programmed Differential Thrust on the Twin Otter using a Spektrum transmitter and receiver? You absolutely need differential thrust when on floats. I tried taxiing on the water without it and had no control. Please let me know and provide instructions how you did it.

I found out how to program the differential thrust, and it works perfectly! Unfortunately, a few months ago I was doing a nice big loop and while inverted at the 11:00 position, the magnets on the left motor broke lose and it went into an unrecoverable spin. I had to wait a few months before the ARF kits came back in stock and I just put it together This time, I put Eflite Power 25 motors and 60A Avian ESC's in it. I got 3 flights into it so far and all seems good! I fly it on two 3700mAh 4S batteries in parallel.

They are covers for where the pushrods exit the rear of the fuselage. You have to carefully cut them out and use CA to glue them on.

Does anyone have the Tamyia paint code for the yellow Twin Otter or something even other than Tamyia?

Just picked up the Twin Otter from a fellow club member. However, he flies Futaba and I use Spektrum. I installed an AR620 receiver and need to set it up on my DX9 transmitter. Unfortunately, my arthritic fingers make it very difficult to measure control throws in mm per the suggested rates in the manual. Does any one have the manual's suggested rates in Spektrum %'s for aileron, elevator, rudder and flaps? Thanks in advance for any help.

What size thread are the servo pushrods the kit comes with? I am going to upgrade to ball link linkages. Additionally, did yall use the nylon servo horns or were you able to find metal ones that fit?
