Haha nice reference, thanks for the tank knowledge! I bet it’s a pain to put those tracks on if they slide off, so many screws that would need to be done. Anyways, nice tank!

The tracks can be infuriating to put back on. The whole tank is an infuriating pig. I just love the look, so clean compared to the Abrams, with all its sticky oot bits.

It is a very nice tank, all though I’m an Abraham’s junky. Can’t go wrong with an American tank in my opinion.

Tiger 1. Tamiya, Hobby Boss, Heng Long hybrid, Challenger 2, British so breaks a lot, Abrams, typically American. To big, to loud, and to thirsty. With most of their crews falling over after drinking British beer. T72. Russian and just gets on with the job. Tamiya Leopard 1, 30+ years old and very original.

Small amount, compared to others on here. I have however enjoyed building, developing new skills, and learning from each and everyone.

Haha nice collection! Id love to see that taimya leopard eventually. There’s a lot of tanks I plan to collect in there.

I love a messy looking Abrams, adds a lot of character! Have just spent ages loading mine up with lots of stowage for hopefully the same effect 😊

May i ask what you did for your red vision blocks for the driver and turret hatch? I know that it is possible to make these, but if you by any chance had a link for some ‘slot in’ pieces (which i think exist, or did exist at some point), that would be awesome!!!

These were from East Coast Armory. Painted with clear red paint. They do take a bit of finding as the site isn’t the most logical laid out.
All the parts are in 1/16 Sherman section.

Thanks Meter Rat - i had already found these and emailed them. The guy said they don’t make them any more and are in the process of making new 3D printed versions. If they come back on the market or anyone else have any ideas/sources, i would be very grateful.

I cut my own vision blocks using some clear sheet acrylic I had laying around on my tabletop mini table saw. Used some of the Testors clear pieces glue to glue them in. The acrylic can be cut with a hand saw also, but it's cleaner and easier with my Proxxon table saw.

After a short battle they relaxed together in a local hot (mud) tub.

I was busy flying for a while.
Now Tank season bug has bitten me again.



Still taking a few tanks with me on every trip (Truck driver).

Finally found some decent sized containers to safely transport them, other than in the original boxes.
That means I can finally start puting the detail parts on them.



First I started with a bit painting the basic tanks after a few outdoor runs
after applying a wash for the first time in my tanker life:


same procedure, basic paint

and after the wash

forgot the wheels on the Tiger but it's done by now.

I finally got around to order the only HL WW2 tank that was missing in my collection.
A regular PzIII.

I started some painting trials on that one as well.
Mimicked a few rust spots first and clear coated it.

The Idea was to try some more detailing techniques like chipping.
I must have done it wrong but continued anyways with some fantasy camo and more wash layers.

Also applied a rust wash on my Tiger 1 project which turned out nicely.

I'm working with paintbrushes and or sponges so far.

Here are some progress pics and a show off mud drive.

Tiger on the prowl.



One of our Colonial Cousins was “tab ‘anging”.That is listening in, to a conversation. I was talking to a friend about what we had been up to and I told him I had built a Tiger 1. I showed my friend the below photo. Said American was convinced it was real. Even after telling him it was a model, he still wouldn’t believe me. Made my day, and he bought me a drink. That’ll do.
