My ex tolerated the hobby, but my current girlfriend that LOVES the hobby and enjoys coming to watch me fly. She encourages me to buy the jets I want. She even told me I'm not allowed to maiden the Phantom unless she's there to watch. I ain't complaining. :)Comment

The letters on the tail are a designation of the carrier air group that the squadron is assigned to.
My squadrons tail letters were AJ when we were assigned to CAG8 onboard the Nimitz.
All squadrons onboard the Nimitz displayed the AJ on their tail along with their unique livery emblems.Warbird Charlie

The NL on VF-111 aircraft are Tail codes and are the markings that help to identify the aircraft's unit and/or base assignment. These codes comprise one or two letters or digits painted on both sides of the vertical stabilizer, on the top right and on the bottom left wings near the tip. Although located both on the vertical stabilizer and the wings from their inception in July 1945, these identification markings are commonly referred as tail codes. It is important to note that tail codes are meant to identify units and assignments, not individual aircraft. For all aircraft of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps unique identification is provided by bureau numbers."I am having an extraordinary ordinary life."~Lucky B*st*rd~

Well ups doesn't do Saturdays so I guess mine will be here Monday. Callie will be shipping my decals out tomorrow so next week will be the maiden flight. Just when I got my collection of aircraft down to the ones I really like, Motion and Flex Innovations have to introduce new ones that I gotta have. The airplane room will fill up again. I wonder how many F-4s will be at SEFF.Comment
