If they do come out with a new version of the 70mm Su-35, it will most likely be made of EPO, not EPP (correction: EPS). This will result in a heavier plane - that's what happened when they re-did the F/A-18E with thrust-vectoring (V2). On the other hand, they would upgrade the EDF's to in-runners.Comment

The recent offerings also seem to have a lot more injection molded plastic parts ,which add weight. Example, the 70mm F-35 V3, which comes out heavier than the 80mm Mirage 2000 although both are EPO.
