I C. They are "out of stock" at RC Castle, too. If they do come back into stock, there is a possibility that more current power systems would be in place. However, if a particular model was a poor seller, it may not ever come back. Having said that, the Freewing twin 80mm MiG-29 was out of stock for a very long time (@RCC) and it came back (small production run) with more powerful (than original) EDFs, reverse thrust and vector thrust already installed (went out of stock very quickly at RC Castle). The later version was not designated a V2.Comment

Hey Team..
I managed to pick on of these up NIB for less than 1/2 the retail price, which is a good saving when its $1100 Dollareedoos down here. I've been keen to try a B-2 as the real aircraft is amazing and looks super cool..
Been working through the forums to get a feel for what I need to ensure successful flights on this bird but it seems to come with 'rules' like a Gremlin! ie wind <5kts, crosswind bad, never feed after midnight etc..
I've got a Assan nosewheel gyro spare so I'll be using that bad boy for this plane too. I'm lucky enough to fly off a geotex type field but its pretty icy in the early morning this time of year so I'm hoping the nose gyro will help the tracking..
Better get back to reading...

If you're using the Assan steering gyro, make sure to turn OFF the stock steering gyro. I find that the stock one is just fine so long as you crank the rudder gain to MAX, especially for take offs and landings. I don't use the little invisible rudder. Don't try to land on the glide - it's too slow. Fly it to the ground with some speed. I've also programmed the drag rudders to act as full ON speed brakes after touch down. It could roll off the end of the runway. I fly off GeoTex, too.Hey Team..

Once in ground effect, hold her off as long as possible…like a Piper Cub 3-point landing. Why? If you touch with too much energy, she can begin crow hopping, and you will destroy the nose gear servo and or mount.
If you touch with the absolute minimum speed possible, she has no energy to crow hop.
I fly with the invisible rudder…personal / individual preference. Good either way.

Is it worth changing the wheels out to Dubro low bounce ones to help with the landings??

Can’t say…no data. Just focus on making the best no bounce landings you can do and all will be well.
I’ve flown her a lot, and only have to replace nose servos rarely. But, you bounce her and she hits on the nose wheel…have a spare servo handy.

I tried to fly mine from grass. I wouldn't call it well mown but just mown. With stock wheels, it won't get up enough speed to lift off. So I got the "grass" wheels that were offered as an option. That did NOT work either. It just can't get up enough speed to actually fly. This is with a 400+ feet of max throttle rolling. I think it would have to be golf green grass.
I gave up and put the stock wheels back on and only fly it from our GeoTex runway. If it were twin 80mm from the latest EDFs, it probably would do it.Comment

At my new field (12 months now). Some of the 80 mm. Example f22. Needs to be popped off the grass
meaning give no elev. Then quickly full. It pops up.. but if U go with slight up. As U would on pavement. It won't get up

Oddly, the B2 just doesn't have enough thrust to get rolling fast enough. One fellow tried with both the stock wheels and the "grass" wheels. He said he managed to get it up once but it was scary. He never could do it again and gave up on it. A single 70mm can do it, but the B2 is just too big and heavy and low to the ground. If it had some nose up rake (maybe 3 to 5 degrees) or twin 80's, it could do it. I just didn't want to spend the effort to modify the nose gear to be longer.Comment

So it was maiden day on Saturday, and what a day it was. Perfect conditions with sunshine a not a breath of wind..
Took off dead straight with and ASSAN nose gyro and all she needed was a couple of clicks of trim and she flew beautifully! It was quite and awesome look in the air and certainly drew a lot of attention at the field. Landing was a non-event with the solid advice provided by the Squawks brains trust. Got her into ground effect and held off touch down with her settling nicely on the wheels. :-)
I put a total of 7 flights on her this weekend and had a blast.. Been getting about 5-6min on a 6000mah pack which is about the level of my attention span.. I will say though, the wind picked up on my last flight as I was landing and I got the dreaded kangaroo bounce on landing! My fault entirely but the B-2 suffered no ill effects. As you guys said, you got to respect the little to no wind rule with this one..
I do like this birds uniqueness!

Good job HT.
Fortunate that you took the time to read and implement the tips.
If you kangaroo bounce and the nose retract servo survives, then count your blessings.
It’s recommended you keep a few nose retract servos on the shelf. Even on calm days, if you go to sleep during landing, you will eat a nose retract servo.
Keep a plastic nose servo mount or two handy.
She’s a crowd pleaser.
